25.01.2022 New South Wales jails are full to bursting. Good job some would say! But consider this proposition.....someone is arrested, bail refused and kept on remand for a year, at trial he/she is found not guilty in fact the complainant lied. This accused person has lost everything and no possibility of compensation because of two High Court cases, whereas if out on bail, life continues and the cost to the state is lessened, but of course the bigger picture is never within sight of those who mandated making bail almost impossible to get.

23.01.2022 Another scam , have a look at the spelling and grammar, yet people are falling for this: After a proceeding on our payments server control, we found the following error; On (25/09/2015).(15/02/2016) your monthly billing balance was paid in twice (202.42 * 2) an amount of 404.84 AUD. For this purpose, to receive your money back you are requested to visit your Account Service and Complete the claim, then we ll immediately transfert an amount of 202.42 AUD to your bank account I...MPORTANT to know : It usuall takes 5-6 days for transfers like this to go throught, so you should see the money in your bank account in less than a week after we start processing the refund. I guess the answer to this is think before responding See more

20.01.2022 SCAM ALERT The latest from those persons who send out emails that looks to be from legitimate government organisations is from auspost. Be careful because many people shop on line and will be tempted to open an email that says "a mailman tried to deliver an article and could not because you were not home" it then suggested opening a file. Auspost will leave a notification on your door. They would not have access to your email address.

16.01.2022 The latest scam. Opening this will cyberlock your data

15.01.2022 Many people think that a suicide attempt is a selfish move because the person just does not care about the people left behind. I can tell you that when a person gets to that point, they truly believe that their loved ones will be much better off with them gone. This is mental illness not selfishness. TRUTH: Depression is a terrible disease and seems relentless. A lot of us have been close to that edge, or dealt with family members in a crisis, and some have lost friends and lo...ved ones. Lets look out for each other and stop sweeping mental illness under the rug. Give a moment of support to all those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune. Our profession dictates that we deal with the problems of others and sometimes we forget ourselves. See more

13.01.2022 Read the caption and lament racist stereotyping.

12.01.2022 NSW GOVERNMENT MUST LISTEN TO THE EXPERTS AND RESTORE FUNDING FOR SPECIALIST HOMELESSNESS SERVICES NSW Labor today called on the NSW Government to heed the advi...ce of health experts and abandon plans to cut funding for more than 20 specialist homelessness services in Sydney. Homelessness is a complex issue which requires experienced service providers who can provide specialised care for people in need, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Linda Burney said. The closure of womens refuges will make it harder for women fleeing domestic violence to find shelter and rebuild their lives. The NSW Governments plan to cut $6 million from homelessness service providers in the inner-city will increase pressure on hospitals, Shadow Minister for Health Dr Andrew McDonald said. These services have helped more than 40,000 women over the past two decades. If the NSW Government forces these services to close, hospitals will struggle to provide the care and support that homeless people need. The NSW Government must listen to the experts and abandon these short-sighted and heartless reforms, Shadow Minister for Housing and the Status of Women Sophie Cotsis said. Expert views on homelessness funding reported in Sydney Morning Herald, 11 June 2014: These people are not going to disappear or go. They have become reliant on the services in the inner city. If the services in the city are reduced, it will only fall on the health system or the police. Its actually going to be more expensive to the state government overall. - Toby Hall, Chief Executive Officer of St Vincents Health Australia It would be a terrible idea if in order to save money we were going to just make generic services - Dr Peter McGeorge, Director of the Mental Health Service at St Vincents Health Australia Often people who are homeless have mental health issues, and that falls through the cracks. Just because you put a [medical] practice somewhere, it doesnt mean they are going to turn up to it, and thats why you have these outreach programs, to try to make sure you do interact with them and get the best outcomes you can. - Dr Saxon Smith, AMA NSW President

11.01.2022 SCAM ALERT There is a scam around at the moment that sends email and text messages purportedly from the State Debt Recovery Office (SDRO) the sender asks you to either open an executable file regarding a SDRO fine or a speeding infringement or provide details that either results in identity theft or the files being cyber locked and a request for money to unlock the files. The emails at first glance looks authentic. SDRO only communicates with you by real mail NEVER by text or email. If in doubt call SDRO.

11.01.2022 Working week is over. Have a smile

07.01.2022 The following story fits under the banner "are you serious" Three to four weeks ago a "senior police detective" from a western Sydney area was caught drink driving three times over the limit! Very bad one would think, however what has been brought to light is that this police officer did not have a drivers license and had not held one for 20 YEARS!!!!! Did he just show his police identification if he was pulled over?? The ramifications of this officers actions are enormous for the force.

03.01.2022 Just an update on the detective caught dui and without a licence. He is next before the downing centre in September. It seems they found a few more serving officers without a license. So, maybe next time you get pulled over and ask for your license maybe you should ask to see theirs!!!!!!!

02.01.2022 Can you believe some poor bugger was locked up for stealing a cherry ripe. Seriously

01.01.2022 The Penrith police detective sergeant caught driving three times over the limit and did not have a licence for 25 years appeared at court yesterday and was given a $2000 fine. Really? They couldnt take his licence because he didnt have one!!! One wonders how a police officer can go through the ranks from rookie to detective and was never asked to produce his licence?????
