25.01.2022 Very nearly ready for Winter magic! We will have a range of vegetarian and a few vegan options, as always, and plenty of house baked breads, including fruit loaf ( with rum soaked raisins ), traditional Sour Dough, and our Rye bread, along with a multi-grain Gluten free ( fun figuring out which grains don't contain ANY gluten). We are looking at fine weather, according to the reports, so expect heavy winds and rain or snow.... Last year did surprise us with weather sticking to the script, but this is Winter Magic...

24.01.2022 Ok, we had a bit of a problem this morning, with a failed coffee machine, which took 4 hours to repair ( including a service ), and a booking for some important safety related cleaning at 3pm, so apologies for today. Good news is, all repaired ( and all the fan ducting/filters fan unit etc all professionally cleaned. We will be open tomorrow as per normal.

22.01.2022 In the next 2 to 3 weeks, we will be re-opening TUESDAYS, now with our staffing a better organised, we do still require a CHEF or good Cook for 1 to 2 days a week, as my spinal injury is worsening, which is not good for anyone....

20.01.2022 Well, it looks like winter may be over... without ever really starting! Still got a range of soups on, and the usual house made desserts. We are open 7 days a week at the moment, but due to serious illness, are a little short on staffing for the last 2 weeks, and maybe the next 2 to 3 weeks, so We apologise for closing early here and there!

17.01.2022 We will be open ANZAC day ( tuesday ), FROM 6 AM, for the dawn service, but will be closed Wednesday this coming week, we still have a minor staffing issue ( illness ) happening!

12.01.2022 This Weekend is the Leura Village Fair, and Bathurst! Busy weekend for the region! We have an awesome red lentil burger, a Caribbean chicken and rum soaked pineapple burger, and a few other specials this week.

08.01.2022 Welcome rain today, which is clearing overnight for what should be a beautiful weekend!. We could use more rain though! Tonight there is something a little special happening in Katoomba, at the Avalon, a great pair of musicians are playing.. Hope to see you there

08.01.2022 This weather.... it may be damp and a little cool, so its time for some winter style foods and drinks! Our Aircon is now known as a heater, the bread is baking, including gluten free fruit toast, and the artwork on the walls is pretty great too!

08.01.2022 Due to urgent repairs, our kitchen will be closed tomorrow, and entry will be.... unusual.... we lost our Marble... the front step, that is, and Katoomba Street Cafe have kindly let us have access for our regulars through " Jeffs Back Alley "... the little door between our 2 cafes! Thankyou!

07.01.2022 Warming weather? not a problem, great aircon, and Tapas back on the menu for the warmer months!

06.01.2022 It had been nice to have some real rain, which has been rare the last 6 months, Plenty of specials on the boards, from spicy Beef nachos to house made sourdough with dips, Wontons, Dumplings, and more! Plenty of gluten free options, and we do cater for Vegetarians and have limited vegan options too. Year 12 is out, and school holidays are on the way.. Oh, I better not forget Christmas.. less than 40 days away.

05.01.2022 Today is the international Unicorn Foundation day. The Unicorn Foundation supports fundraising and research for neuroendocrine cancers, a little known form of cancer that can mimic the symptoms of IBS, and is frequently mis-diagnosed. This is a great cause, Please support it today at Graze on Main, Big W, or Clean Slate Cafe. We have a BBQ to Raffle off, courtesy of Big W Katoomba as well, $2 a ticket, ( Thank you Glenn, Michelle and all the rest involved in this! ).

03.01.2022 Closed today... my minor back surgery on tuesday went worse than expected. Back open tomorrow, friday, as per normal. Thankyou. Matt

02.01.2022 well, its currently 2 degrees, and SNOWING.... after 24 degrees yesterday.. it was forecast, but bom.gov.au withdrew the snow forecast yesterday afternoon.... enjoy the weather, as in 5 minutes, we may have the complete opposite! We do have 2 wonderful soups on the menu right now, including a Beetroot and coconut and a tomato and red lentil.

02.01.2022 OK, this afternoon there was a very short flurry of snow, and a lot of rain! confused weather, but we have a creamy pumpkin soup, a Tuscan Vegetable and Bean soup, and just finished right now???? A Beetroot soup... which is a somewhat forgotten soup these days, but always been amazing! This week, we will be closed Tuesday, but HOPEFULLY, from next week we will be opening tuesdays again.
