11.01.2022 Congratulations Victoria! Together we have done an amazing job getting to this point with no new cases for the last 31 days. The Victorian Government is being extremely cautious with how they move forward ensuring that everyone’s health and safety remains top priority. Events are no exception to this. The Government is currently finalising guidelines for ‘Covid safe’ events across Victoria. Understandably this is a lengthy process.... As a result, the Great Aussie Hike has made the decision to postpone the challenge until Friday, April 30 to Saturday, May 1. We believe with this additional time we are in a stronger position to deliver a safe event within all the Government’s Covid-19 event guidelines. We know that events like the Great Aussie Hike contribute to our sense of community spirit and we need this now more than ever. The additional time also gives participants more time to train and connect with their team mates which is the heart of this event. Those who are already registered were contacted via email on November 25. Please get in touch if your team captain did not receive this message. Thank you for your understanding and patience. 05.01.2022 HALF TEAM option for 100km Challenge now available. You asked and we've responded - our aim is to make the challenge as accessible to as many people as possible. Just ask and we'll always to do our best to help out! A number of people are wanting to take on the 100km challenge, but are having trouble putting together a team. So we're introducing a HALF TEAM option.... How it works: register a team of 3 (can be 2 walkers + 1 support OR 3 walkers, with 2 on course each section) tell us a bit about yourself at registration and we'll partner you up with another half team who are a good fit you can then decide to walk the course together OR you can remain in pairs and just agree to stay with 200m of each other to help out in an emergency. Our course marshals will keep an eye on everyone to make sure you're staying safe. Feel free to send us a DM or email if you'd like to chat further. Link for half team registrations is below - discounted price ends next week, but payment plans are available.
