Train to become a Divemaster/Dive Control Specialist with one of Cairns' leading dive and snorkel tour operators. Immediate start preferred!... What's required: - Minimum open water dive certification - Able to commit to around 4 months - Current First Aid/CPR/O2 (can be obtained within 2 weeks of start date) - Current Australian dive medical (can be obtained within 2 weeks of start date) - Australian residency or working holiday visa with a minimum of 6 months left - Be a hard worker What's it about: You will be working on our 3 vessels that run trips to the Great Barrier Reef. The training will take 90 days (90 work days). You get to swim and dive with turtles, sharks and plenty more and learn the ins and outs of the dive industry with a wide range of training on commercial vessels. After completion of your trainee-ship there is a high chance of employment within our company. The position will start immediately or within the next 10 days so you should already be in Cairns or able to get here within a week. You will not have to pay for the dive courses instead we will pay you a daily allowance for every day that you will be on the boats to reward you for your hard work! There is in the end a small fee for training materials and certification to be paid by you. We are a SSI affiliated dive operator. 12.01.2022 Work on Australia's Great Barrier Reef We have an opportunity available for a Purser/stewardess to join our team on the Great Barrier Reef on our liveaboard div...e and snorkel vessel. This is an overnight vessel or floating hotel. Swing is a 5 on 3 off roster. We have an excellent team working with our family owned and operated company. Working on the sea can provide plenty of variables but as a purser/stewardess this will be one of the highlights. As the purser onboard you will be responsible for the guests needs, housekeeping and general boat duties which includes; provisioning, rotation and correct storage of stock, bar and barista duties. Your people and interpersonal skills need to be impeccable, you will live with the crew and passengers whilst on board and fluency in respect and professionalism is paramount. Please apply if you have professional hospitality and housekeeping experience. Only apply if you have a level temperament that copes with pressure well. You will be managing a housekeeper and several volunteer hosts to help with your everyday routine of cleaning and preparing rooms for oncoming passengers, serving at meal times, assisting the chef in the galley etc. You need to have a sense of humour. You will be responsible to manage and maintain our vessels and associated equipment including: Preparing and keeping a detailed periodic maintenance plan and Care of all vessels and equipment, including all ship borne machinery and plant Organise maintenance activities to ensure work done meets required quality standards. Facilitate in-depth troubleshooting to resolve issues and any other duties as directed.
