While visiting is not encouraged, horticulturalist Sheree has some tips for what you can do in your own garden as you spend more time at home: Were working on a new veggie patch for the Gardens at the moment. If you want to start your own at home, its a good time to start putting in cool weather veggies like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and broad beans. You can even order the seeds online.... Herbs like thyme and parsley can be planted in pots indoors if you dont have space outdoors. The veggies we grow here are used in the Tea House when its open, or donated to local soup kitchens. "Were also dead heading some of our flowers now cutting off the old blooms to encourage them to grow new ones. Its a simple job that kids can help with too! 02.01.2022 A new and exciting chapter of bellarine kids, Greater geelong kids, and Great Ocean Road Kids is now taking place! Im welcoming Jenny and Katelyn as the new administrators of Bellarine Kids, as I have now made the decision to step down from this role. I started Bellarine Kids 10 years ago with the aim to connect children-focused businesses and services with the community of families on the Bellarine Peninsula. As a mother of three children, I wanted to share what was out ...there for our littlies to enjoy - and so I created Bellarine Kids as an online hub, showcasing many of the wonderful, local, family friendly opportunities. Its been a very busy decade, as Bellarine Kids has grown into the bustling community it is today. Its with excitement that I hand over the reigns of Bellarine Kids to Jenny and Katelyn. They are looking forward to developing Bellarine Kids and Im looking forward to all the ways they will continue to support the community of families and the wonderful local businesses in the Bellarine Peninsula.
