21.01.2022 ALERT - THUNDERSTORM ASTHMA While the official start to the danger period is not due to commence until Monday a forecast of thunderstorms possible across most of New South Wales on Saturday has prompted an Alert. Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology... Issued at 10:28 am Friday, 16 October 2020. Valid from midnight tonight until midnight on Saturday, 17 October 2020. Thunderstorms are possible across most of New South Wales on Saturday, with the exception of the northeast. Thunderstorms could start early across the southern inland, and are then expected to expand to the remainder of the area during the afternoon and evening. Severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of the Riverina, south west slopes and southern ranges during the afternoon. Damaging wind gusts are the main concern in this area, but bursts of heavy rain or large hail are also possible. Current high pollen counts and the predicted thunderstorms can increase the risk of asthma. People who are known to suffer from asthma should carry their asthma puffer with them at all times and try to stay indoors with the windows and doors closed during the storm period. If you have breathing difficulties call 000 or go to your nearest hospital Emergency Department. To receive an SMS alert when the pollen counts are high and thunderstorms are predicted, go to; https://science.csu.edu.au/asthma and register for alerts.

02.01.2022 Happy fifth birthday to us!! Lovely visit today with Audray Banfield, previous Director of 25 years, onsite to see our live conservation event with Emily Mulvih...ill. Audray inaugurated the National Photography Prize, commissioned many important works in our collection including Tracey Moffatt’s ‘Something More’. A fierce, strong woman that led the way through the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s, creating the foundations our museum is built on. As we reach our 5 year milestone, we reflect on the artists, leaders, donors and community that have enabled us to be here. Thank you for the support, and enabling us to work with the artists we do. It is our collective privilege. When you speak with elders of the art world like Audray, and feel that passion for art, and joy in the weird still alive...it inspires us to keep reaching, keep moving, keep adapting. Maybe even make it to 25 years like Audray. Here’s to the next 5 ! http://ow.ly/IGaV30rcTXt
