25.01.2022 FAQ's 1. Are there any items that we should not pack? We are unable to take items such as flammable liquids, corrosive chemicals, firearms, noxious materials, poisonous items, or pets. ... 2. Do you move Gas bottles? Yes, however they need to be free of gas and have a certificate from a registered gas inspection stating that the gas bottle no longer contains gas. 3. How should I prepare my fridge for moving? You need to make sure your fridge has been turned off and defrosted prior to the removal trucks arrival, making sure any plumbing associated with ice makers/water dispensers has been disconnected. The fridge needs to be emptied of all food prior to transportation. 4. When should I book a removalist? It is best to book your removalist as early as possible, this is so that you ensure you move on the date(s) required. Bear in mind that Nov-Feb are the busiest time for removals and removalists often get booked out weeks in advance. So the earlier you book your removal the better chance you have of securing the date or even booking with your preferred removalist. 5. Can you give me a ride in the truck to my new place? Unfortunately no, the truck only has 2 seats which are for the driver and offsider which means there is no room to take a 3rd person, also due to insurance reasons we are unable to have customers ride in the truck.

03.01.2022 Moving Tips: Packing Boxes Proper removalist cartons are recommended for strength and size, these can be purchased from most self-storage outlets or your local removalist. Supermarket boxes, foam boxes as well as plastic tubs are not suitable to be used as they may buckle and break. Striped bags are preferred as apposed to garbage bags for linen, clothing, blankets, etc., as garbage bags easily tear.... Label all cartons with your name, relevant room and its contents, breakable and fragile items should be wrapped in bubble wrap or butchers paper and mark these boxes fragile. Distribute the weight evenly when packing all cartons, combine both heavy and light items in each carton, packing heavy items first. Books/heavy items should be packed into book boxes. All cartons should have lids, be taped closed and have labels. DO NOT pack aerosol cans, flammable items, tins of paint, etc. Box weight should be 25KG OR LESS. See more
