25.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who attended our recent High Tea we were fundraising for Assistance Dogs Australia and at our last dinner meeting we handed over a chq for $1090.00. Woohooo. It takes a lot of work to organise events and the committee made up of members and friends did an awesome job.

24.01.2022 We are still collecting your used eye glasses . Drop off points are OPSM, Specsavers and Big W in Springfield. The glasses are cleaned and the prescription is assessed right here in Queensland before they are sent across the world. Just think your glasses could help a child see the chalkboard in school or allow a mother to do detail craft work to sell so she can feed her children. Every pair counts .

We have had a busy couple of months helping two children needing wheel chairs, a foster mum with a little extra, a good contribution towards a disabled... child's bathroom renovation and a Bunnings BBQ donated to Redkite! Phew. So if you see us at the Springlake Tavern on Friday nights with our meat raffles, at Bunnings BBQs over the next few months or at Harmony Day on the 15th of October selling cheesecakes and biscuits please know that all of the proceeds go towards our local community. 13.01.2022 Great dinner meeting last night. We had as our guest speakers Helen from Goodna Streetlife homeless shelter and her wonderful helpers. It was so interesting and exciting to have them there. Got spare warm clothes and especially men's shoes they would have to have them. They are at 16 Mill Street Goodna. If you like to join our dinner meetings they are on the 2nd Tuesday of the Month at the Springfield tavern 6 for 6.30pm.

11.01.2022 Today I picked up more beanies and scarves made by the community from Moselles at Springfield Lakes. Our knitting for the homeless project has been a great success. THANK YOU ALL. Friday night we start attending the food vans to give them out.

11.01.2022 Well thank you Mick from Helen's Haven a mens homeless shelter at Goodna for making us feel so welcome this morning. Our club is supplying a shower and lockers. Today the guys and I looked over where the paving is to be done. I said my contribution will be supplying sandwiches cold water while cheering them on from my folding chair. That is a VIP job !!! Does anyone know someone with a licensed bobcat who would donate their time. That too is a VIP job.

09.01.2022 Well Lions are at it again. Have put together our army and attacking tonight selling raffle tickets in our holiday down the coast. Only $2 a ticket feeling lucky and haven't got a ticket then email Deb on [email protected]

08.01.2022 How fantastic our KNITTING FOR THE HOMELESS PROJECT has been a massive success. A project opened up to the community and thank you for supporting us. I am currently working with Ipswich City Council and other organisations to assist our homeless with beanies and scarves made with love this winter.

07.01.2022 What a wonderful experience going to the food van tonight. We handed out our beanies and scarves it was fun lots of kids.

06.01.2022 Wooohooo just filling my basket ready for the food bus tonight at Goodna. Giving out beanies and scarves to the homeless. They are lucky tonight as not including the ones I have made. But beware they will be given out soon.

03.01.2022 Bunnings BBQ Come down this weekend and join us at Springfield Bunnings for a sausage on Sunday to raise money for Australia Lion Childhood Cancer Research Foundation

01.01.2022 Received another load of recycled prescription eye glasses to be cleaned and repaired by Lions International and sent to third world countries Also just dropping off a boot full of boots , shoes, scarves and beanies to the homeless shelter. Great work Lions. Great fun Great Club
