06.01.2022 BOM have moved the ENSO alert to El Niño ALERT - long story short, it looks like we have more dry times ahead with most forecast rain to only just or not even m...eet average monthly falls. As recently mentioned, we cannot see a chance of any drought breaking rain (above average falls) in the foreseeable future as displayed in the first forecast picture from BOM (rain chances of above median April - June). By looking at the forecast rain for April - June, we can see there is 50mm - 100mm forecast for the majority of the region between April and June and 100mm - 200mm for a small area of the region between April and June. We really hope these forecasts are incorrect but it’s not looking promising at this stage.. we will continue to monitor the situation but at this stage it is not looking great for above average autumn rainfalls.
