17.01.2022 As we near the end of what has been a very unusual, and at times very frustrating and disappointing year, we would like to thank everyone in the Greater Western Baseball Association for whatever role they have played this year. Whether you are helping toil and mark the fields, moulding the skills and development of our players, being hands-on with positions around your Club, or simply getting your children to training and games to support them in a positive way, it all makes a difference. So, with much gratitude, on behalf of the entire Greater Western Baseball Association Committee, our Junior and Senior Warriors' Team Officials we would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year break!! 17.01.2022 As the Little League Australian Region Championships kick off with Senior League Division tomorrow, we recognise two umpires who have been appointed by Baseball.com.au from the Greater Western area. David Brodie will be on the diamond for Senior League at Lismore, and Michael Bryan will be heading to Mildura in two weeks for the Intermediate League. With only 5 umpires from NSW Baseball Umpires Association heading away to represent our state across the four National Championships we congratulate them on their hard work being acknowledged and wish them the best of luck at their respective tournaments.

14.01.2022 A crushing 10-Run Rule win over Newcastle Baseball Association Inc. brought the Baseball NSW Senior League State Championships to an end for our oldest Junior Warriors. Today's success followed on from a hard fought 16-15 run victory over the Hills Junior Baseball Association Blue team on the main diamond yesterday, which knocked the opposition out of finals contention and allowed us to jump them in the pool standings. Congratulations to the players, many of whom played their... last Junior Tournament, but we look forward to them joining our State League ranks next season in Under 18s and pushing for grade appearances. A sincere thank you also to coaches Mathew Forbes and Ben Nash who have taken this group of players through to State Championships for several years. One tournament remains for this Summer Season, where Greater Western Baseball Association will field three teams in the Baseball NSW - Little League and League Age 10/11s State Championships, hosted locally by Rap 4 Change Mt Druitt Lions Baseball Club at Peter Van Hasselt Reserve from Thursday to Sunday, 15-18th April 2021.

12.01.2022 *** ROOKIES/COACH PITCH TIP *** Coaches are recommended to be using the 'prayer drill' to be throwing overarm from one knee, as flat as possible to the catcher, to give their batters a better chance at hitting the ball. It has been observed that underarm and lobbing the ball is less effective due to the high arc on the ball, which results in the ball not staying through the strike zone and is harder for players to hit through the line (and to judge on where it will cross).... A reminder that all coaches who are throwing pitches are to be at a point 6 feet in front of the pitcher (40 feet from home plate) and to approximately 2-3 feet to the third base side so as to not block the view of the pitcher, as well as limiting the likelihood of getting in the way of the fielding team's throws to first base.

12.01.2022 *** IT'S GAME DAY *** "Catch the action" when the Greater Western Warriors host Blacktown Workers Baseball for the midweek game in the Baseball NSW State Baseball League 1st Grade tonight, under lights at Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney. Game start is 7.15pm. The full Warriors squad will also play at home with Allform Home Additions for the first time this season on Andrews Rd Baseball Complex Penrith, with Under 18s on Saturday starting 2pm, and all three grades on Sunday with 3rd Grade at 9:30am, 2nd Grade at Midday and 1st Grade at 2:30pm.

03.01.2022 Another great day of Junior Representative Baseball was played within the Greater Western Baseball Association on Sunday, with a fantastic hosting job done by St Marys Saints Baseball Club. Across the three age groups, 18 innings of quality baseball were completed in 7 hours, with the fields well prepared for the event. 6th December will see the final round of home & away fixtures played, this time against Cronulla at Alroy Park in Plumpton.

01.01.2022 Congratulations on a hard fought State Championships by these Junior League Warriors and their coaches. The program that was put together in the lead up to this tournament is a credit to the commitment of the coaches and the hunger to win that they instilled within the players. Our first of five teams to compete in these 3 weekends have set the bar very high, taking a win on opening day and holding leads over the opposition in all games.... It was a pleasure to watch, but the commentary around the venue from other coaches, spectators and officials about how far the Association has come in the past few years, based upon your efforts caps it off. Special mention to Cayden Nash who received the Little League Medallion for the team. Next up will be the Senior League Warriors at Blacktown International Sportspark from this Thursday to Sunday.
