20.01.2022 The theme of next week's National Recycling Week is: "What Goes Around: Why Buying Recycled Matters". 15.01.2022 The Climate Council predict that the Australian Government are likely to face scrutiny from other countries about whether Australia could meet the terms of the Paris Agreement with its current policies and emissions targets since Australian emissions are still rising. This comes at a time when India, one of the world's largest greenhouse gas emitters, has ratified the Paris global climate agreement, committing to ensuring that at least 40% of its electricity will be generated from non-fossil sources by 2030. C'mon Australia, wake up and smell the roses!!

13.01.2022 Whilst we have experienced a fairly cold winter this year, (in Victoria at least!) the global average temperature for July was 16.7 degrees, which is 0.67 degrees above the 20th-century average. Yet another indicator that our planet is heating up! In fact, July was the hottest month since monitoring began in 1880. July’s high topples the previous record set in July 2015. The month of July, when the seasonal temperature cycle peaks in the Northern Hemisphere, usually sees the... highest global temperatures, according to NASA. There are many online tools to calculate your environmental footprint - here is a link to one. http://www.wwf.org.au//human_footpri/footprint_calculator/ What actions can you take today?

11.01.2022 It took me many years to fully appreciate what my secondary school Principal had meant when he said, "There are three important things in life: attitude, attitude, attitude". I think this rings true for everything in life. Without being aware of it, we all have filters, which are like attitudes, shaping our beliefs, our mood, our actions and the conversations we have with others. 01.01.2022 What happens when people who are passionate about making a difference, take on reducing or eliminating waste? Amazing things happen. Let's look at two amazing Australian examples. Whilst Tasmanian wine maker Peter Bignell was at the Rootstock sustainable food and wine festival in Sydney last year, he noticed the huge volume of wine being spat out into buckets, destined to be poured down the drain.
