24.01.2022 Just a little heads up for anyone that owns a Mazda6. It won't be a 5 minute job to replace the radiator.

19.01.2022 Engine cooling fans work so much better when they're on the right way.

18.01.2022 Typical of a vehicle that was used on a farm this Hilux had a lot of grass and debris blocking air flow through the radiator. Adding to that was a leaking tank seam so the radiator was removed and pressure cleaned then the top tank was taken right off, tank and header plate bead blasted then all re soldered together again. A nice thick coat of paint extends the life of a brass radiator in our coastal areas too. Re fit the radiator, add the coolant, run and test then she's good to go.

17.01.2022 Movement in the lower radiator mounts resulted in the engine fan hitting the radiator and shattering. The detached fan blades punctured the radiator tubes causing major water loss but the holes were fairly simple to repair. The truck will be back on the road with minimal downtime.

12.01.2022 Something a little different today. This float bulb out of an old carburetor developed some tiny cracks allowing it to fill with fuel. I removed the pivot point then separated the two halves, cleaned all the solder surfaces then very carefully soldered it back together adding some extra solder over the cracks. A dip in hot water to pressure test and she's all good.

11.01.2022 This radiator out of a 35t excavator is pretty much at the upper limit of what I can handle on my own although I did need help lifting it into the trailer for delivery. With a new engine being fitted the customer wanted to make sure the radiator was all good so I removed the top tank and did a full clean out on the core. After reassembling the radiator it was flushed, pressure cleaned, pressure tested, and given a fresh coat of paint. Job done.

11.01.2022 Today I had a Dodge turn up on a tilt tray because the plastic filler neck assembly had deteriorated to the point where the hose fittings broke completely off. With this particular part being unavailable in Australia I decided to make the replacement. All copper and brass, made to fit exactly as the original part did and the happy customer was on their way quick smart. Turned out pretty well I recon.

06.01.2022 This one is from a little while ago but the last time I saw this customer was over 20 years ago at my old workshop. We had a joke about the old radiator still being in warranty but he was happy to pay for the replacement.. Hopefully the new one will give him another 20 plus years of reliable service.

01.01.2022 This recored HR Holden radiator is going to be fitted to a very nice Ute with a worked motor. A close mesh core was fitted to increase cooling and the paint finish came up a treat so it'll look right at home in the tidy engine bay.
