Just as a warm-up prepares your body for the workout, the cool-down helps your body return to a state of rest. The cool-down relaxes your muscles and lowers your heart rate and breathing from your workout intensity. 23.01.2022 In light of the recent upgrade to level 4 restriction across metropolitan Melbourne we have extended The Great Ocean Road Running Festival Virtual event to run from Friday 21 August until Sunday 30 August 2020. This extended period will allow our Melbourne based participants to meet their distance goals within the exercise limit requirements. Remember you can run on a treadmill if you have one at home, your local park or even loops around the block! A kilometre is a kilometre no matter what and we know exercise plays an important role in our physical and emotional well-being during this challenging time. He has "completed 3 half-marathons this year so thought it was time to give [himself] a big challenge". Its #YourRunYourWay, and for Ryan his Virtual Marathon will be a 14km loop around the Barwon River, from the rowing sheds to Fyansford with the start/finish at Balyang Sanctuary. "The idea came about because I was looking for a w...ay to raise money for Parkinsons disease, my Aunty Denise suffers from the disease and is a huge part of my life so I wanted to help out in some way.
