25.01.2022 TRACK CONDITIONS ALERT: WATER SUPPLY GREAT OCEAN WALK Tuesday January 12th, 2016... The Otways has been experiencing unseasonal dry weather, and as a result a number of the rainwater tanks along the Great Ocean Walk are now empty, while the levels in others is extremely low. Untreated rainwater is collected in tanks at the Great Ocean Walk hikein campgrounds, and Parks Victoria endeavour to top up the tanks when possible. However, Parks Victoria cannot guarantee rainwater availability at each campsite. Hikers are responsible for their own water requirements, and due to the weather conditions Parks Victoria recommends that hikers arrange water drops if possible. Parks Victoria ask that hikers use this valuable resource wisely and do not waste it by washing dishes under a running tap, or using the water to wash sand off your feet etc.

18.01.2022 I love the Great Ocean Walk such incredible diversity in coastal form and vegetation class. Can you believe that just 10km further on this trail will bring you to the giant limestone 12 Apostles sea stacks?

14.01.2022 We're delighted to share the great news about the "all-terrain wheelchair" to help even more people enjoy the Great Ocean Walk! A new all-terrain wheelchair at Apollo Bay will help people with a disability to enjoy sections of the spectacular Great Ocean Walk and parks in the region. The TrailRider will allow people with limited mobility to access one of the most breathtaking sections of the walk with the help of TrailRider chair operators. The section stretches almost 10km and runs from the Cape Otway Lighthouse car park to Aire River Camp Ground. Accessible toilets have also been installed recently at both ends of this section. The wheelchair is managed by the Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Centre at Apollo Bay and can be booked free of charge.
