06.01.2022 We welcome back Gwen and Graham Jones as a sponsor of the John Day Speedcar Classic. 3 years ago an idea formed to have a Speedcar race but not just any Speedca...r race a 30 lap, 40 lap and finally a 50 lapper and along with the increasing laps each year was the increasing prize money until an unbelievable $50,000 prize pool was on offer. More importantly it is a race to recognise a legend in speedway the General John Day. Graham and Gwen are long time speedway fans and current car owners of the W4 and W4J speedcars. To them the John Day Speedcar Classic means much more than a race, it is a chance to acknowledge John and all his efforts for speedway and in particular speedcars. John was one of a kind, an icon of speedway and he is missed by so many. He was a great supporter throughout my racing career but more importantly a wonderful friend for our family. Speedway has given so much to us and love that we are still doing it together today as a family. We are grateful we can be a part in recognising John and showcasing great Speedcar racing.
