18.01.2022 Great Southern Images represents the collective efforts of a group professional photographers who are keen to share their love and knowledge of photography with others who may share the love but not the level of knowledge that the collective possesses. Barry Alsop, Maurice Mahady and Patrick O'Kane have more than 50 years combined experience in the photographic industry spanning an extensively diverse range of expertise. Over their careers all have worked with individuals and... organisations fostering the growth of knowledge and love of photography. This new venture Great Southern Images grew from their workplace experiences where they constantly met people who would look at their work and say Wow! I wished that I could take images like that. The truth of the matter was that they probably could - if they had a level of knowledge to match the equipment that they owned and their love of photography. Consequently, Great Southern Images has developed a program of workshops and private coaching and mentoring to satisfy the needs of those envious people. In addition, for those in business that have a need simply requiring a imaging solution they offer their collective services to satisfy those requirements.

12.01.2022 Hi all, I've been out scouting new workshop locations for the future...

10.01.2022 Photographic workshops with industry professionals passionate about guiding your photographic journey. Prepare > Shoot > Edit > Output > Share Great photos don't just happen, it takes years of training, experience, research and sometimes - an element of luck!... In today's electronic world, there is a myriad of sources available online to teach yourself photography. Plenty of these are free and others for a fee - typically you get what you pay for and even the paid for sources are often only one-way interactions. Experience tells us that nothing beats face-to-face hands-on education with constant review and feedback and the additional benefit of working in a group feeding off the enthusiasm of fellow devotees. That is what Great Southern Images is all about. Our workshops are designed to accelerate this process by drawing on the combined decades of industry experience of our workshop leaders Barry, Maurice and Patrick.

05.01.2022 Patrick OKane - Photographer, EYE SEE IMAGES The digital age and rapidly growing technology provide the tools that make it easier to capture quality images. Capturing great images - those with a real wow factor, takes personal involvement. Pursuing innovation, perspective and creativity and remaining true to the capture of images in camera underpins my enthusiasm for photography. I strive to capture the sprit of the situation and the soul of the subject. In doing so I like... to use my equipment in a creative way, pushing the combinations of technology in a manner that makes the viewer feel the moment in which the image was captured. From my personal perspective I enjoy photography, but most importantly I enjoy being able to help people. As a photographer I use my skills not only for the enjoyment of the viewer of my images but wherever possible, to help others advance their photographic journey.
