25.01.2022 NOW OPEN - RETURN TO NATURE With further easing of restrictions, allowing domestic travel and overnight stays from 1 June, we're keen to welcome you ba...ck to our region for those adventures we've all been dreaming of. Here's the headlines if you're heading up this way for the long weekend or beyond: Camping is back in many of our parks and forests but you'll need to book in for many spots including Cathedral Range State Park and Lake Eildon National Park. Lake Mountain is open again for hiking (no snow yet!) Like all resorts in Victoria you need to pre-book tickets to visit the resort. You can find out more and book tickets here - www.lakemountainresort.com.au The Great Victorian Rail Trail is open for business but toilets on the trail remain closed for the time being. Visitor Information - Marysville Visitor Information Centre will be opening for 4 hours each day over the long weekend but all other centres remain closed at this time. You can also call 03 5797 3394 for local info. You'll find many of our local eateries, shops and wineries have reopened their doors so please remember to #supportlocal and respect safety measures put in place by these local businesses. For a full list and interactive map of local businesses currently open across Murrindindi check out the Dindi Directory: https://bit.ly/3g3ZY6x For the most up to date local information around what's open please visit: www.discoverdindi.com.au/whats-open Don't forget to maintain social distancing with others.

20.01.2022 Seriously nailing it at The Giddy Goat Cafe Yarck.... stick to the rules. Stay at your primary residence. And don’t be dumb! Think of others. This is not about u. Wash your hands. Sanitise. Wear a mask. Don’t crowd anywhere!

20.01.2022 Just an hours drive south of Mansfield is the township of Eildon which once held MTB national and state events back in the early 2000’s. The trails network has ...been revived by local enthusiasts who have put huge amount of volunteer time to create formalised bike park for everyone to enjoy. Put it on your list of destinations to ride! Make sure you refuel at the Eildon bakery post ride. #seekridelive #atcjoyrider #newtrail #eildon #bikepark See more

14.01.2022 LONG WEEKEND ROUNDUP After being allowed back out into nature with the ease in restrictions over the long weekend, there were plenty of adventures had... across the Murrindindi region. From hiking in some of our stunning parks and state forests, going for a scenic bike ride or drive, to spectacular lookouts and summit scaling bushwalks, it was a pretty awesome weekend all round for adventure! Here's a few of our favourite shots captured over the weekend. Happy Tuesday! www.discoverdindi.com.au Remember to use our hashtag #discoverdindi for a chance to be featured in our posts on Instagram and Facebook!

13.01.2022 The historic trestle bridges on the East Gippsland Rail Trail give it a unique feature that needs to be preserved as part of the planned redevelopment of the tr...ail. I’m supporting a major upgrade of the trail to boost the visitor economy through cycling and hiking, and make our region an even more attractive place to live and work. We need to restore the Snowy River trestle bridge so it can be walked and ridden on; save the remaining section of the burnt Wairewa bridge; maintain the Stony Creek bridge at a safe standard; and ensure the Nicholson River bridge remains open. The total cost over several years would be $10 million across the 100km trail. The trail surface and approaches to towns along the route need upgrading to improve the visitor experience and many plans have been developed over the years. I’ve read them all and pulled together a proposal which I’m sending to all levels of government and community groups proposing that bushfire recovery money be directed at this task ASAP. Linking the trail to Lakes Entrance at the same time would connect some of our biggest towns with an off-road and safe exercise option. We would make our visitor economy less seasonal and more resilient to natural disasters and be part of the broader network of 11 rail trails which are being upgraded across Gippsland. What do you think? #lovegippsland
