23.01.2022 Hey happy campers! We are sorry about the busy activity that has been happening over the last few days with the Rodeo setting up and also with our site preparation for our new building. It's exciting times thou and we apologise for any inconvenience. Campers please remember there will be a grader doing some earth works at the Reserve from Monday the 2nd and hopefully just for the day.

23.01.2022 If you’re planning to spend an extended weekend with us in Great Western be sure to put this on your visit list! It’s right in town on Saturday 23rd (the day before our race day) and only a short stroll from the Reserve where you can camp for free for as long as you like.

22.01.2022 Love your travels but need to self isolate for a while? Great Western Racing and Recreation Reserve, gateway to the Grampians, has plenty of space for your vans, tents or swags. Camping is FREE but if you require power its $10p/van a night and gold coin hot showers. Dogs are also welcome. Our town is offering home deliveries from our local Pub and General Store. And we can help coordinate wine deliveries from our local cellar doors too, some of which have temporarily closed ...due to current circumstances. You can find out more about us on WikiCamps. The old bingo number "Legs 11" Thanks to all the Tassweigiens that have made the Recreation Reserve their home over the last week especially Lucyand Charlie Charlie is pictured here chomping down on his ice treat to help keep him cool . Thanks again guys you have all been amazing and have shown so much support for our town during your stay. Enjoy the rest of your stay and to the guys who are leaving , please travel safe.

A courtesy bus will start leaving the camping ground from approximately 11:00am on Saturday and continue looping around town stopping at all venues including our wineries - Bests Wines - Great Western Seppelt Wines ATR Wines Grampians Estate Miners Ridge Vineyard. 1 loop every hour. 17.01.2022 Morning everyone. Were pleased to say that our campgrounds are open once again, with self-sufficient campers welcome to stay at the reserve. Please be aware that no toilet or shower facilities are available for now, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. There is power available should you require it at $10 per night. We ask that you are respectful of the grounds and those staying around you, and please abide by the governments social distancing rules at all times.... Thank you for your understanding & cooperation.

17.01.2022 Just wanting to give a heads up that we have a few issues with some of our shower and toilets. These faulty cubicles have been highlighted by ‘ Do not use’ signs and the committee are in the process of getting them attended to in the next week. There is however still plenty of working showers and toilets available for our campers and reserve users. We do apologise for any inconvenience.

13.01.2022 Camping is still available for all our traveling vans/motor homes etc as there is plenty of room for eveyone. Power sites are $10 per/night but will be limited, gold coin hot showers are also available.

13.01.2022 Please be aware that our reserve facilities & grounds are now temporarily closed to all campers and/or travellers. This is a DELWP directive that will be in place until further notice. We apologise for any confusion caused over recent days with the communications provided. The COVID-19 situation is obviously still unfolding & changing every day. Whilst we hoped to be a place of refuge for people, the safety & health of our community is paramount. We appreciate your ongoing support & understanding. We hope to welcome you back with open arms once this period improves. For now, camping in your backyard sounds like a pretty good idea!

12.01.2022 We would like to advise that our camping ground facilities are permanently closed until further notice (I.e. shower & toilet facilities). We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are still welcoming self-sufficient campers but ask that you camp 10-meters apart and continue to practice safe hygiene & government regulations. Our community business are all supporting home deliveries which includes any campers on our grounds. Our General Store is open 7-days as is the local... Petrol Station. Stay safe campers and lets hope we get back to some normality sooner than later!

02.01.2022 I have some exciting news!! We have started to build our long awaited multi purpose building. It may have taken 15 years but it's going to be worth it. We will have our amazing building finished in time for this years Pleasure ride . Everyone is so excited A big thank you to Sam Boisen.
