22.01.2022 This photo is very special and comes with a story....a painting by Mr Higgs of a bygone Western Creek with a faint Mother Cummings Peak and Ridge in the background. This shows the old hall on Western Creek Road located before the bridge, which no longer exists. A big thanks to Lloyd Jago for sending this to us after he visited The Peak with his family. Lloyd's wife was a Higgs and grew up at Western Creek...the Higgs family were early pioneers and Higgs Tracks namesake. Llo...yd's Mother was a Cunningham and her family settled this property as early pioneers many moons ago as well as other spots at Western Creek... a road is named after them. The original homestead site on our property now has a derelict building on it that was built fifty years ago by timber loggers, which we intend to remove in time and rebuild a day area. It was so interesting to listen to Lloyd's stories of this area and his humourous tales of a different life and past culture. Such a vibrant, diverse history here and not forgetting our First Peoples, Aboriginal tribes who endured much atrocities as their homeland was slowly reduced. One can only imagine how hard and painful life must have been way back then. But it is the history of this place and we must respect that in all its forms. So grateful to finally put all the historical peices together and we feel even more passionate about our roles as caretakers of this incredible peice of Tasmania.

21.01.2022 The little Grey Shrike-Thrush that flits about singing beautifully of a morning is the sweetest thing. It's a wonderful noise outside to wake up to at the Lodge along with all the other birds and wood ducks. The garden is blooming with bursts of vibrant colour everywhere and is looking glorious . 18.01.2022 While I was at The Peak working to ensure our guests were looked after and seeing to check outs, hubby Geoff was volunteering with a cave rescue team over the weekend to save an injured man in a cave near Cradle Mt to safety and much needed medical care. Our very own Mole Creek Caving Club & Wild Cave Tours owner expert Caver Deb Hunter & Geoff were part of an amazing team and together worked tirelessly as a team. Well done to the incredible TAS Police, Ambulance, SES, Caving Rescue Team. Everyday heroes!!!!

08.01.2022 This post is completely off topic to our retreat business however it is something I feel deeply passionate about, as do many thousands of women globally. This very important message deserves to be shared as much as possible. I remember how nervous I was sharing my deeply personal survivor story publically as part of a women's global network, that strives to educate & create awareness while supporting women to have a quality of life during treatment and after as they heal.
