25.01.2022 Hot Chocolate just the right rose to plant in the winter garden.

24.01.2022 Now that the roses are dormant, its nice to look back to some blooms photographed in autumn.

23.01.2022 Blue Emotion,a Delbard bred rose, appropriately named for this difficult time.

23.01.2022 It is wonderful to see so many people gardening again. The garden provides a great escape in these uncertain times. One of our customers has planted a new rose garden last week. The soils are still warm and the roses will get a great start this side of winter.

22.01.2022 Climbing Jasmina is working hard, still making the odd cluster of fragrant blooms this late in the season.

22.01.2022 Another winner bred by Ruth and Richard Walsh. Custard Cream is looking gorgeous on these cooler days. In summer she is quite white, but she certainly lives up to her name in this cooler weather. This Australian bred rose is now available in pots.

21.01.2022 The perfect gift for DAD - a rose called 'FATHER'S LOVE'. This dark red, very fragrant hybrid tea rose produces buds that open to large, old world style blooms ideal for cutting or to enjoy in the garden. A charity rose supporting research into prostate cancer.

20.01.2022 To all our customers It is with regret that we would like to inform you that the Collectors Plant Fair is not on this year and has been re-scheduled to April 2021. Any roses that had been ordered for pick up at the fair can be collected from the nursery directly or we can mail them out. We hope that everyone stays healthy and gets through this difficult time. ( smell the roses - it wont be long before they are back in bloom )

20.01.2022 We wish everyone a Happy Easter - stay safe, healthy and eat lots of chocolate. The nursery is open on Easter Saturday Closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

20.01.2022 This David Austin bred rose ELLEN produces these highly fragrant blooms throughout the season. They start a soft apricot colour and age so soft pink.

20.01.2022 Those were the days my friend..... We have good supplies of weeping standard roses in pots but they are all dormant now. This means no blooms nor foliage. But come spring, they will look like this again. Edna Walling in full bloom this summer - now completely dormant.

20.01.2022 Looking for a beautiful white hybrid tea rose? Consider this beauty. 'Sweet Child of Mine' has large, very full, creamy white blooms that often have a light green tinge. There is a pleasant anise fragrance. A good rose for the garden and vase. This rose was released in aid of Type 1 diabetes, with part of the proceeds from the sale donated to JDRF.

19.01.2022 Paul Bocuse a winner - bred by Guillot and named to honour the king of French cooking, this rose has it all. Large peach/soft apricot, old fashion style blooms with a moderate perfume repeat well throughout the season. Makes a good specimen in the garden and the blooms look great in the vase. Available in pots now.

18.01.2022 Stephen introduced me to Softee - and I have fallen in love. Yes, it is a miniature rose but it has beautiful apricot buds with the blooms ageing to soft pink. And best of all, it has hardly any thorns. Who would have thought I could be converted.

18.01.2022 We have added some gorgeous new varieties to our rose collection. These are Australian bred roses, bred by Ruth and Richard Walsh in NSW, available as bush and patio standards. Enjoy/

13.01.2022 Take a deep breath and enjoy the last perfume for the season of Sweet Intoxication - highly scented floribunda style rose.

13.01.2022 Whilst summer is definitely over, there is still some loving going on. Here is Summer of Love still making some blooms.

12.01.2022 Our Honey Olivia is close to our heart, not only because it supports cancer research, but also because it is as pretty as our Olivia who just turned 8. A lightly tea scented floribunda rose, producing soft apricot blooms aging to soft pink.

12.01.2022 Looking for something different? LA FILLETTE, an Australian bred rose by Ruth and Richard Walsh certainly attracts attention. Clusters of white blooms with pink stripes are produced on this bushy shrub rose throughout the season. A prolific flowering rose, growing to about 1.3m in heights.

10.01.2022 Can anyone help???? Jenny Hamlyn is looking for the miniature rose Mini Pearl. If you have a plant could you contact her directly on [email protected] or ring us here at the nursery - 02 96531745.

08.01.2022 It is becoming increasingly difficult to find blooms to photograph. The roses are starting to go dormant and the quality of the flowers are deteriorating. Climbing Masquerade, however, is still producing some flowers. This variety produces golden yellow buds that open light yellow and change colour to pink and red as the blooms age. This climbing rose certainly makes a splash in the garden,

08.01.2022 Watch out -aphids are back. It's the time of year that the aphids are coming back to the new buds and leaves. Whilst they do not kill the roses, they do damage the blooms. We suggest to spray now with Eco-Oil, Eco -Rose can be added to control black spot as well. Both are very safe to use, as they suffocate the aphids and do not poison them. As this is not a systemic spray, it needs to be followed up a few days later to catch any new aphids coming into the garden. The ladybirds will follow and eat the aphids, so further follow up sprays are quite often not necessary.

07.01.2022 Why not celebrate Captain Cooks landing with a rose. The Endeavour would be perfect - a David Austin bred rose, producing large fragrant blooms throughout the growing season.

04.01.2022 This spring has seen more aphids then ever before. But help is finally here. The ladybirds are back and having a good go at eating the aphids. There are also larvea of ladybirds ( on lower leaf ). Do not spray the aphids with a chemical spray, so not to kill the ladybirds or their larvae. When the numbers have sufficiently built up, they will do the work for you.

03.01.2022 We wish all mums a very Happy Mothers Day. We will all be celebrating differently this year, but we love and appreciate our mums just as much.
