17.01.2022 Reflecting on 3 years in my business as a Real Estate Photographer in Brisbane Well, one things for sure: managing a 54 seater restaurant with 15 staff in South Africa was nothing like this. Im Shirlee Green, youd know my business as Green Shots Real Estate Photography in Brisbane. Life took this radical turn 4 years ago. I was finishing my photography studies, and suddenly, looking for a rental property, there was the light bulb moment people talk about. ... It finally happened to me. I noticed that rentals didnt have the same quality photos as the properties listed for sale. I decided that I can make a difference in the rental market. I was fortunate enough to get in touch with the most amazing mentors in the Real Estate Photography Business, Claudia and Charlie. After more specialist studies, and many, many hours and 100s of photos later, finally I heard the words: Shirlee you are ready. Time to go out on your own. I took the plunge and Green Shots Real Estate Photography was registered in August 2016. WOW! My very happy journey started. I have met so many amazing Property Managers, Real Estate Agents, Property Owners, downsizing retirees, investors, business owners... helping all of them with social media photographs for their businesses. Before and After photos for Builders doing renos and made many friends along the way. I wanted to say THANK YOU to all the awesome people that I have met and helped me grow along the way. I am proud to still be working with my original Property Managers. I love my job. How lucky am I? Life moves so fast, and its really easy to forget what youve achieved and how far you have come! I often take time out to look back to where I started, and I keep coming back to basics. I chose every bump in the road as an opportunity to learn more, and keep improving my skills. I added floor plans to my business this year. When that subject came up in the early days I just said I would never be able to do that. So I have learnt Never say Never in Business and life. I do believe in giving back and supporting the community. I am a volunteer photographer for The Hills Chamber of Commerce, I volunteer for Boomerang Bags sewing bags when I get a chance. I am working with a very big Expo coming up soon and will be one of the Photographers. I am not just a Real Estate Photographer. I make a difference to whether your listing makes the Buyers and Renters Inspections list or not. I make a difference to your life. And I make a difference to mine.
