20.01.2022 How many cans or containers do you think you could collect if you walked the beach, picked up litter or possibly asked all of your neighbours? We had one amazing person who did just that and came in with over 4000 containers! 20.01.2022 Ben, Cam, James and Nicolas from Perth EcoJobs are busy working for the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions at Jandakot Regional Park removing Woody Weeds and Pigface. The wattle species Acacia longifolia (Sydney Golden Wattle) and Acacia trigonophylla Meisn are Australian natives, however, they are not indigenous to this area and interfere with the local biodiversity. The EcoJobs team cut down the branches to the stump then paint the stump with a herbicide mixture to prevent regrowth. #greenskillswa #ecojobs #woodyweeds #biodiversity

20.01.2022 The second video in our Cloth Nappy Project funded by the Waste Authority of Western Australiais a Prefold Nappy which is flat layers of fabric sewn together with extra fabric for absorbancy in the centre. Funded by the Waste Authority of Western Australia Green Skills are running Cloth Nappy Projects encouraging families to use cloth nappies and reduce the amount of waste to landfill. To celebrate we have THREE Cloth Nappy Packs to give away from each of our locations in Albany, Perth and Denmark.... To enter "Like" the Green Skills Page and write your postcode in the comments. 16.01.2022 Growing food from kitchen scraps is a great activity for kids on school holidays. We soaked pumpkin seeds for 8 hours to germinate them and planted them into some soil. We used egg cartons to easily separate the seeds. Here’s hoping we get some sprouts. 05.01.2022 While preparing the garden bed to plant our indigenous natives, we found the garlic in the compost had some shoots so we put them into a pot and they really took off. Inspired by this we have a mini school holiday project to grow veggies from scraps. What veggies have you grown from scraps?
