23.01.2022 NAIDOC Week Last week was NAIDOC week and to celebrate, Greenacre Public School held an online assembly. We learnt about the 2020 theme, 'Always was, Always will be', which means that this land has always been and will always be Aboriginal land. The whole school listened and watched Miss McDonald, who is a proud Yuin woman, present and share her knowledge with the students and teachers. We also listened to a special message from Hon MP Linda Burney, watched Mr Lee interview A...unty Lyn who is an elder in the Greenacre community, listened to one of our student leaders read the Acknowledgement of Country and participated in creative art projects centred around NAIDOC. We are grateful for the knowledge that we have gained and continue to learn about the First Nations People of this land. Always was, Always will be Aboriginal land. NAIDOC Committee
