23.01.2022 Hi Dragon's, Only two weeks away from the launch of the summer season. Behind the scenes has been frantic but we are nearly there. Eight senior teams nominated and looking the same for juniors making it the biggest summer season in GTC history. It has been 25 years since we had similar numbers when GTC under President Peter Francis was booming. It is great to see that we are the place to be once again all these years later. Only a few years ago we were an endangered species ...threatened with extinction but we have fought back hard. Our members have been fantastic and to see individuals improve week in week out by challenging themselves is what makes everything worthwhile. Thank you for the great show of support from all members. A special thank you to team captains for contacting your team members and getting the teams ready for summer. We are always happy to lend a hand if you need anything so don't be afraid to ask. A shout out also to the members that are volunteering their time to help out where they can whether that be RSA, Covid Marshals or Event organising, every little bit helps. Hopefully the weather is better this week and we can resume Fiery 3's on Tuesday night. Thursday night training for our Saturday players will hopefully be back in action also after two consecutive wash outs. Let's get ready for a massive summer ahead Dragon's!!

21.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hi all After a few weeks off we are happy to be back this Tuesday for Fiery 3's Social Competition starting at 6:45pm... This week we will see the following matches Division 1 Hungry Zac's vs The Dream"ing" Team Challenge! vs Jill's Angels The Enigmas - BYE Division 2 One Hit Wonders vs Asian Flava Miss Hits vs "Hairy Ball Fiddlers" No Strings Attached - BYE With many of our players currently away or unavailable this Thursday night for our club training night, we will not be hosting Thursday night this week but instead we will be holding a club training this Saturday from 1pm. This is a great chance for our Saturday players to hit the courts in the sun in prep for the return of competition in a few weeks. Let's get back into it Dragon's!!

18.01.2022 In near perfect conditions our 8 senior teams took to the courts for a great Round 1. Hard fought battles across all matches made for a really competitive day and well done to all involved. Sets the scene for an awesome summer season ahead. Well done to our first time senior team players for the Dragon's in Peter, Jamie, VB, Serg, Aaron and Geoff. VB in his first ever Saturday match won his doubles and singles. Well done mate! Up until two years ago VB hadn't played tennis at... all, one of the most improved players at the club. Thanks to Serg and Geoff helping us out and filling in on the weekend, really appreciate it. Shout out to Plucca and the Knights, great Day 1 on display for Plucca and the boys. Let's reload and get ready for Round 2!!!
17.01.2022 Tina Turner asked "What's love got to do with it. James Brown replied "Absolutely nothing" Terrance and Phillip said ... "Suck my balls" Terrance and Phillip are huge fans of Canadian Tennis! Great to see the rain stay away for once on a Thursday night and training was cranking. If last night's hitting was anything to go by we should be in for a great day of tennis tomorrow. Junior's have four Top 4 hit outs so some challenging matches await as they kick off proceedings in the morning. Some even bigger clashes for our senior sides and none tougher then the undefeated Division 5 and Division 8 both having top of the table 1v2 matches against undefeated opposition. As it turns out both matches are against Todd St and both matches will be played in Gawler! Division 1 ladies are also in a 1v2 clash and look to remain the only undefeated side in their division as they take on Playford while Division 2 ladies look to extend their three match winning streak. Men's Doubles Div 1 have a big opportunity to jump back into the four when they take on Valley View at home. Div 3 Men's Doubles can really cement themselves in the Top 4 and look to take on top team the following week. Singles 9 and 10 in stark contrast to last week where they both lost to the top team now both play the bottom teams of their division. Great opportunity to bounce back and move deeper into the top four as we round out the first third of the season. Best of luck to everyone and look forward to another successful outing for the Dragon's.

17.01.2022 Merry Christmas Dragon's!! After what has been one of the craziest and hardest years that many have ever endured we wanted to go ahead with our Christmas / End of Year Party as originally planned so that we could bring our club back together after such a disruptive year and celebrate what we are about.....Inclusiveness, Diversity, Mates.....We are Club! After the set back of a brief lockdown and tighter restrictions we did think that we might have to cancel our event, howeve...r, on Sunday 20th December after consultation with council and SA Health we were able to throw our favourite party of the year and although it was slightly different to previous years we are happy to say that it was a huge success! Thank You to all that helped out in the day, be it catering, serving, bar tending, decorating, packing up or the dishes, your help made the day go smoothly! And lastly, a BIG Thank You to all who came for the day. It was fantastic to see soo many of you there. The new faces, the young faces and the faces that we are lucky to have grace us for many years. Our members are what makes our club and without you we wouldn't be able to do what we do. Enjoy your Christmas break and we will see you all back out on the courts again in 2021!!

15.01.2022 Hi Dragon's, In light of the latest restrictions coming into effect from midnight tonight from Premier Steven Marshall, all community sports fixtures and training are temporarily cancelled contact and non contact, indoor and outdoor. Unfortunately this means we will need to suspend our Fiery 3's Tuesday Social Competition and Thursday night training. ... Saturday tennis is also on hiatus for 2 weeks and our Book a Court system will not be open for bookings. Stay safe and hopefully we will see you all back on the courts in two weeks. Look after yourselves and we will keep you all updated.
14.01.2022 Yesterday saw the perfect preparation for Round 1 as we hosted our GTC Singles Tournament. With 20 participants all eager to hit the courts it was another great day down at The Den. The first final played was that of the women's with Beth playing Carly and it was Beth who come out on top winning the event. Well done to the 6 participants representing our ladies and look forward to seeing this grow in the future. You should be very proud of yourselves and you all hit very we...ll, well done! The men's plate winner was Sam who was able to take a win against Davin. Declan earned his way through to the final with a win over Jarrod in the first semi-final and Brendan was able to take a win against Daz in the other semi-final. Both close well fought battles. This set up a great clash between Declan and Brendan in the final. With Declan off to a flying start Brendan was coming back before the rain hit. Unfortunately play could not resume and the match was postponed. We hope to see the end of this battle this Saturday after match day concludes. In a 9 game set, Declan leads 5-2 with an advantage point to Brendan in the eighth game. Thanks to Shaun for putting the tournament together, outstanding job mate. Looking forward to many more with a doubles tournament and the much anticipated junior/senior tournament not too far away. Junior Dragons paired with senior Dragons should make for an amazing fun day of tennis. Can't wait!!!! Looking to the week ahead, we really hope with only two rounds of Fiery 3's left before finals the weather is kind to us so we can resume after two cancellations in a row. Thursday night will be Saturday member training to get our players ready to hit the courts in mass on Saturday with over 40 senior players across 8 teams taking on the challenge. Our juniors are another few weeks away before they start their journey, they also have strong numbers and some talented young players ready and eager to hit the courts. Time to get pumped and welcome in a brand new season. Fire up, the Dragon's are coming!
13.01.2022 Thank you to those who attended our AGM last night. With Rachel stepping down to solely focus on the Junior Co-ordinator role we welcome in Shaun as our new Vice President who will have a strong focus on organising tournaments. After his recent success with his first tournament we are sure he will do an amazing job. With work loads increasing Sam has put his hand up to take charge of league manager and ensure all players are entered and updated throughout the year. Already fa...miliar with the role of Club Captain we know he will do well. He will be joined with another new committee member in Shirley who has come to the club and is always seen helping out. Shirley brings a wealth of experience in her committee roles at other clubs and will be looking to engage eager volunteers to help out around the club. Daz was nominated and granted life membership, this is the first life membership awarded in over 15 years at GTC. Life Membership is the highest honour that can be bestowed by the Club for long-standing and valued service to the sport as well as the club.
13.01.2022 The Dragon Slayers were out in force yesterday so well done to our opposition teams that took some big wins against us. We will be back up and about this week starting with RD2 of Fiery 3's on Tuesday night. RD1 was awesome with all match results being close 2-1 victories. 13.01.2022 Let's bring back the 3's with a BIG Double Header this week!! Fiery 3's is back in action this week, Tuesday 1st December, with a big double header. After a great start to Fierys 3's in round one we were met with some delays thanks to our good friend Covid-19, so in light of restrictions easing, we will be kicking things off with a double header! ... We have released a new fixture (which has be emailed to you all and will be posted on Monday) and will be playing Rounds 2 and 3 this week so that we can get back into the swing of things. We will be aiming for a 6:30pm start for Round 2. 13.01.2022 Very impressive to see all our Fiery 3 players in attendance and instantly signing in via their Covid app last night. Well done to all, if a simple sign in means we stay safe and get to be out on court then it's a small price to pay. The hand written sign in is there also for those who had some issues with the app. It was suggested that if you just use your phone camera it will take you to the link so if you had an issue last night this may work next time you sign in somewher...e. It was unfortunate that our double header only saw the completion of Round 2 before the power failure. Good news is we don't believe the issue is in our lighting box and an electrician will be on site today. We aim to have the problem fixed today, sorry to those who had a bye in Round 2 and didn't get to hit the courts last night. Stay tuned as we look to have a rescheduled double header next Tuesday and get back on track. You are all awesome!
13.01.2022 It's heating up and there will be some hot action on court tonight. After a huge double header last week we are back on track and will be out to play Round 5 of Fiery 3's tonight. The flames will burn, the drinks will be cold despite being a fridge down and the tunes will return. Lets fire it up!

Metro League Junior State League Green Ball Junior State League SDTA Seniors and Juniors NETA Juniors EDTA Juniors EDTA/NETA Combined They will provide a further update by Wednesday 2 December for the above listed competitions due to be held on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December.

03.01.2022 So close to the perfect day out for our seniors winning 7 matches and only one very narrow loss. Great effort everyone to round out the first third of the season. All senior teams are in finals contention all sitting in the Top 4. Some tough matches for our juniors but we still managed to come away with 3 wins and some hard fought losses. Well done juniors keep up the amazing work. Tuesday night kicks off the summer season of Fiery 3's. Aim to arrive at 6:45pm and lets fire up! Two divisions take to the courts for the first time.
