22.01.2022 Hi to all our gardeners out there. Green and Gold like mostly everyone, have been through a very strange year and have had to change the way we do business. We have had the extra pressure of the Red Imported Fire Ant threat and the need to protect our south bound stock from infestation. In order to do that we have found it necessary to only allow the public access by prior notice or appointment. Through all this we have continued to grow our business base as a production whol...esale nursery and now employ up to 12 local people at various shift times throughout each week. However, we MISS YOU. From next year we will be re-introducing an exciting range of predominately native trees, shrubs and ground covers. We will be having Farm Gate Sales on a regular basis and only be selling species which grow well in our area and suited to our climate. As for this year, we will be having a SALE next Sunday 15th November and will have a few hundred trees, shrubs, climbers, ground covers, hanging baskets and indoor plants. Watch this page for more information and photos updated daily. See more

We are open today from 10am- 3pm and Special Opening times for tomorrow (SUNDAY) 8am - 10am for those keen Sunday Gardeners. We apologise for any inconvenience while we have been closed.

20.01.2022 NOTICE to all our friends, neighbours and customers; No need to explain why, so it will come as no surprise that we are forced to take measures to limit our human interactions with the nursery. We will have the "CLOSED" sign out but if you need anything please ring us on the numbers below.... The plants don't know the difference so they will keep growing and if you are forced to hibernate then do it with a plant and breathe easy :). Our last shipment (pics) on Wednesday will be selling out in major Sydney outlets today. Lets hope we can get back to sending more very soon. Our jungle is growing. To our amazing staff; Chrissie, Sarah, Fi, Peter, Charly, Yolani, Dom , Rick and Ted, we hope we will have you all back soon. 19.01.2022 Only 1 week to our Farm Gate Sale. This coming Sunday (15th) from starts 7am and finishes at 10am. We are starting to sort out our stock and already we have identified many, many Trees and Shrubs starting from $1. Many $2, lots of plant usually wholesale for $8- $12 will be sold at $5. I will put a few more photos up here each day until Sunday and also include a bit of info on some as well. We will have fact sheets on Tree and Shrub Planting tips available as well. Our sample ...photo today features Xanthostemon (Golden Penda) which make a great medium feature tree or planted together for an attractive screen. Bird and Bee attracting. For a low hedge or border plant you cant go past the hardy Westringia (Native Rosemary). the thick habit benefits small birds and the mauve flowers attract bees of all kinds. The third plant in front is the native vine; Pandorea. This variety is "Ruby Belle"which produces masses of ruby red flowers with a cream throat. Photos of flowers for example. These plants are not currently flowering. See more

17.01.2022 Just love it when I am potting up babies from tubestock and you can just tell they can't wait to get growing. Xanthostemon Fairhill Gold are a shorter version of the popular Golden Penda.

17.01.2022 Overnight visitors. Border opening winter travellers. A few hundred (+or-) Golden Whistlers found our duck motel.

15.01.2022 Some pretty little flowery things to the Tamborine Village Markets we bring. Come along to the Lions Tamborine Village Markets tomorrow and pick up a few of our wonderful native shrubs and ground covers. They think it's Spring so plant them in.

15.01.2022 Unfortunately, the Tamborine Village Markets had to be cancelled and these little show offs have had to go back to bed. However, they are still available from their regular home from tomorrow. Remember, a native garden is a happy garden.

11.01.2022 What a wonderful first day of Spring at the Tamborine Village Lions Club MARKETS. Our beautiful little natives couldn't wait to show off. Grevillea in particular, defy the dry conditions

08.01.2022 Native grasses have many benefits when used creatively in our landscaping. Rows of Lomandra hystrix hold up water flow ,distribute water and trap nutrients around their base. They are also quite efficient at weed suppression. Their long creamy flowers (seed heads) are favorites of bees and small bird species who enjoy cover and protection from their thick growth habit. We will have a good quantity available on Sunday for only $5 each or 12 for $50 .

08.01.2022 5 days to go to our Farm Gate Sale and I have to find more time to get organised. One of the trees I am featuring today is the Lophostemon confertus. It has many common names such as Pink Box, Qeensland Brush Box etc and it is a true local with a long heritage. One of the survivors of Godwanaland this large tree is now one of significant environmental and ecological importance to our area. A good attractive shade tree that does not throw branches indiscriminately as their eucalyptus cousins. They are fire tolerant and do not have oils that combust also like eucalyptus. This is probably why the are listed as koala friendly. They are also extremely hardy and great survivors. We have them this weekend from $1 and $2 for larger. We planted several beside one of our tunnels 2 years ago that are currently flowering. Photos here.

07.01.2022 4 days to go to our Farm Gate Sale. Today I would like to share with you two more plants that will be available on Sunday. The first is the Ivory Curl Tree (Buckinghamia celsissima) . This large evergreen shrub/small tree is spectacular when in flower. Growing 4-6m in most conditions. These are hardy set young stock and only $5 each. The flower pics are for example as these young plants are not in flowering mode at this stage. The second for today is the popular hedge plant, Red Robin. Photinia fraserii 'Robusta' needs no introduction and kept pruned, provides a beautiful formal hedge. On Sunday we have them for $5 each or if you want to start a hedge (each) 25 for $100.

05.01.2022 Everyone says our indoor plants make for a better living experience. This guy agrees.

04.01.2022 Production at Green and Gold is back in full swing to supply a hungry southern market as well as our Brisbane/Queensland customers. Saturdays are a very busy day as we take advantage of the availability of several local youth and blend with our mature staff. It works very well and everyone has a good time. Our teams work exceptionally well together and are all quality people. Our young ladies and men are a credit to themselves with their impressive work ethic and willing att...itude. They enable us to get closer to meeting our production targets. Since we moved here in 2015, the local community has continued to impress us with wonderful people and now quality youth who have helped us on our journey in building a strong business. Thanks Guys (and Gals). See more

04.01.2022 Some big clearance specials at the Lions Tamborine Village Markets Sunday. Native Trees and drought resistant landscape design plants from $4. Special on Aggie's at $5 or 20 for $65. Lots of good quality plants at wholesale prices.

04.01.2022 At the Tamborine Village Markets. Set up with lots of great plant bargains ready to go.

01.01.2022 Can't let National Tree Day go by without an environmental correction. Sarah removes Eucalyptus cadaghi and Tipuana environmental weeds and replaces with Eucalyptus tereticornis. A local species beneficial to local wildlife including being a favourite food source of koalas. Happy Tree Day everyone.
