25.01.2022 Greenbrook Phantom's Lilly Her first canter in the arena at the breakers Rising 5 YO mare
25.01.2022 From all of us here to all of you, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Prosperous New Year.
23.01.2022 Greenbrook Isabeau now 5 days old, Sire: Watermark The Phantom, Dam: SD Ladyhawke. This filly is pure quality from her pretty head to her black tail :)
23.01.2022 I have come to the heartbreaking decision that due to the prolonged drought and my health issues in 2019 I am not in a position to retain Greenbrook The Candyman as a future stallion. Candyman is the long awaited son of Watermark The Phantom and Blackwood Mintie. Candyman is in the process of being weaned and will be handled and made ready once I am discharged from hospital and have clearance post shoulder surgery to handle my horses. This boy is pure quality, he will mature... 15hh+ was to be retained by us as a future show stallion and stud sire. We will have on offer 3 boys: Greenbrook The Candyman Teddy x Mintie Tobiano colt EMH 15hh+ Greenbrook Titan Teddy x Glenbogyl Park Southern Skye black colt / gelding EMH 14.3 -15hh and Cindy's little cob Greenbrook Prince Carrick Tri Bay colt / gelding EMH 12.3 -13hh
22.01.2022 So I am over the moon with the info I just received, see copy of post below Attended the NDHD end of year awards today at Caboolture Sports Club & was totally surprised & thrilled with Jubes (Greenbrook Royal Jubilee) results at his 1st year of dressage comps, with a few months break due to COVID-19 in between. Looking forward to 2021 with a lot of excitement for Jubes. Silver medal for Senior Preparatory consistent results Preparatory Senior Champion... Champion Senior High Points I was also awarded the NDHD Club Spirit Award which was a wonderful surprise. NDHD is a fabulously supportive Club of which I am very proud to be a member of. Thank you Horseland for the saddle cloth & rug & Oz Shotz for the gift certificate See more
21.01.2022 Greenbrook Monte Carlo rising 2 yrs old
21.01.2022 We purchased some small weaner steers and put them in the paddock next to the Bell paddock this morning where the mob of girls are. Typical Cobs we all had to come see who our new neighbors are LOL. I knew when I turned them all out that I would destroy their feather watering in the creek through the black sticky mud but wow they really have taken it all off. They are all due in over Easter, they need their tails washed and brushed as they are starting to wrap around and they have an appointment with the farrier :) Please excuse bad phone pics of very dirty fat happy horses.
21.01.2022 Couple of phone pics taken yesterday, when we were moving the horses around. Most of the mares are now turned out as we finally have some grass in among the weeds that came up after the floods. So great to have then back on pasture :)
21.01.2022 Some people are so lovely, Bonnie went home today PTIF to Greenbrook Monte Carlo and her mum gave me these when she came to collect her.
20.01.2022 Whilst Frank and I are away with Cindy and family, Sam called last night to say our property is flooding, a flash flood came roaring down the creek and swamped a couple of hundred acres and the foaling paddocks are under water. They were out in the rain just after midnight checking the stallions and colts currently in the foaling paddocks moving some to higher ground. I hope this stops as we are already playing Tetris trying to house all these boys safely high and dry.
19.01.2022 Morning pics just came through, all stock are ok but our boundary fence is now across the road and all floodgates are gone along with large sections of boundary fences. Pics are of our North boundary fence taken from the road now flooded closed.
19.01.2022 I was cleaning my wash bay this morning with the gate open, so I was joined by the black fillies. Mummy what are you doing, can we help, is there food LOL. I decided to put a stick on them since they volunteered to join me and they are getting so big, all just had a growth spurt and are starting to level out again. Rosie, Boomer and Maggie have just turned 2yrs old in the last few days and Bow will be 3 yr old in November.. Rosie (Teddy x Bloss) 14.1 1/2hh, Maggie (Whistle...blower x Tammie Lee) 14.2hh,Bow (Bullseye x Skye) 14.3hh and Boomer (Teddy x Story) 14.3 1/4hh. Arrow (Bullseye x Skye) will be 2 at New Years, she stayed on the hay feeder with the mares, although she is the same height as Boomer. Pretty please that our girls will all hit my target breeding height of 15hh+. Rosie belongs to Tam she is just visiting for a few months to grow out and be a youngster in a herd. See more
19.01.2022 I took some quick paddock pics of Greenbrook Monte Carlo's boys today. The grey is Greenbrook Silver Shadow, and the tobiano is Greenbrook Draco, both 75% partbreds.
18.01.2022 So exciting news Skye foaled at 1.35am this morning and I finally have a Tri Bay filly, it has taken me 8 years to breed one. Better photos to follow.
17.01.2022 So finally it rained after 18 mths of drought and living on bare dirt with everything on feed, Thursday we received 65mm mostly in a downpour in 1.5hrs, this did a bit of damage however yesterday we received another 38mm of gentle follow up rain :) The dam in Monte's paddock filled up and overflowed cutting a track through Bombay's paddock and flooding the bottom mare paddock. We had to do a reshuffle of horses and lock Teddy in the cattle yards to move the mares and foals (including his daughter) into his paddock to get the foals out of the bog. I will need to spend tomorrow on the washbay to try to get all the black mud out of feather if it stops raining, We have had more rain in the last 24 hrs than we had it all of 2019. This is a great start to 2020, giving us hope that the drought may be broken.
17.01.2022 Cindy has started Greenbrook Phantom's Lilly under saddle, nothing fazes this girl, so sweet chilled and sensible. Everyone who meets Lilly loves her she is just that kind of a mare Lilly is by Watermark the Phantom aka Ted and out of Bob's Blossom
17.01.2022 So we were hit with another flash flood at 3am this morning, this one was worse. All three foaling paddocks currently containing stallions and colts are now completely under water. Why do these things happen when we are away and Sam is looking after the stock. We have run out of paddocks and yards on high ground up at the house for the boys. Sam rang Trish and she came down with Col to assist Sam, they loaded 2 stallions onto my truck and took them to their place. Whilst we a...re flooded in and can't get out we can get to our neighbors in either a truck or tractor even in bad floods, thank heavens Trish is our neighbour. So we have Bombay and Carrick in the round yard and Candyman in the utility yard. Teddy is currently in the cattle yards, and all mares, foals and geldings are in the only 2 dry paddocks, so there are no rooms left at the inn. We now have over 300ac of our place under water. 16.01.2022 Lil man's love for Skye never wanes... He ran straight up for cuddles upon arrival
16.01.2022 Very happy to introduce Greenbrook Coco Novella who arrived around 7pm last night. This young lady looks to be a Silver Tobiano filly, cant wait to test her to confirm silver and see if her mum passed on her red gene as well :) Her sire is Chocolatier (imp) and her dam is Greenbrook Quinn's Cover Paige, so she is a granddaughter of the late Gypsy Elite Anthony's Quinn. Just a few phone pics, I will get some proper pics in the next few days. So excited about this pretty little pocket rocket :) Please excuse the iodine on her back leg, she moved at the wrong moment and we both wore it LOL.
15.01.2022 Cindy and I have sent Lyndara Sweet Magnolia aka Magie and Greenbrook Southern Bow out for some training. If you look at the pics on Ken's post, Maggie is the first pic and Bow is towards the middle . However if you have a keen eye you will also see Kel's beautiful Bella, she is a daughter of N'Ço The Front Cover Story, Story is now owned by Greenbrook, and I also have a black daughter of Story that we will start under saddle in the next few months all going well. I eventually want to learn some Cowboy and or Western Dressage with Bow when life returns to normal and we can get out and about again, however for now it is breeding season and with 7 foals on the way I will be busy for the next few months
15.01.2022 Greenbrook Makalu left for his new home yesterday, apparently it stopped raining long enough to load him. Special thanks to Lynda for everything she has done with this boy, as he was born at Windenvale and left from there. Very exciting for his new owners.
14.01.2022 Ok so I sent a 3 yr old filly, Greenbrook Southern Bow out to be started under saddle, she has been away almost 5 weeks. Upon visiting her I had a quick ride on her and we took her home, she has no mouth (no brakes), and any pressure means go faster, not to mention the fact that she has lost a lot of weight. Not Happy Jan. Both pics are of a wet horse so a fair comparison, and no it is not raining here, why spoil a good drought, she is at Cindy's down in Brisbane.
13.01.2022 Just received the DNA colour results back on the boys. Greenbrook The Candyman EE, TT, so he is Homozygous tobiano and SD Bombay is EE, Aa both boys are PSSM1 nn.
13.01.2022 Greenbrook Monte Carlo now 3 yrs old, had a quick wash this morning, not a show wash, just a tidy up one LOL. Please excuse the fact that he is still wet and his feather is clinging to him as it is only half dry. I really love the way this boy is maturing and cant wait to start him in harness and then maybe saddle.
12.01.2022 Introducing, Greenbrook Southern Sangria, Glenbogyl Park Southern Skye and Mountain Park Makers Mark have out done themselves to produce this quality girl. She is the first foal produced by this colt and what a way for him to commence his career as a sire. I finally have my Tri Bay filly and she is quality all the way. Special thanks to Mary-Anne and Adam of Mountain Park for the use of Marcus and to Trish for the great pics of my new girl.
11.01.2022 Greenbrook The Illustrator "Ink" 6 weeks old, only phone paddock pics I snapped this morning at breakfast. Love this little man, such a stunner
11.01.2022 Trish came for a visit to take pics of the new foal, and took some pics of some young stock. All are in paddock condition and could do with a bath, but Trish always takes nice pics.
10.01.2022 Trish came over yesterday to take some pics of the the babies. So please enjoy baby pics of Greenbrook Coco Novella and her mum Greenbrook Quinn's Cover Paige, Greenbrook Silver Shadow and his mum Watermark Dolly aka Dora, both these foals already have their new human mums waiting for them to grow up. Greenbrook Fire Fly is also in as she is next to foal to Greenbrook Monte Carlo in about 3 weeks, looking forward to meet this little one and see what colour they produce (Blac...k, Smoky Black, Buckskin, Bay, solid or Tobiano). Fly is by ITS Smokey out of our QH X mare Oreo for a 75% foal. On the end are a couple of snaps of Greenbrook Titan and Greenbrook Isabeau both in for training, Titan is also due to go to his new home shortly and of cause Freyja as not a lot goes on around here without her supervising it. Once again Trish thanks for the great pics. See more
08.01.2022 Greenbrook Makalu, such a sweet boy and his mum is doing a great job with him. He is by Windenvale Watson's Caval Ridge out of Bob's Blossom.
07.01.2022 SD Ladyhawke has produced a stunning big strong filly overnight. Can't wait to get a proper look at her as she unscrunches. Better pics to follow.
06.01.2022 When Trish came down on Monday afternoon to meet Sangria she took some nice pics of the current foals, enjoy. Once again Trish thanks for the pics :)
05.01.2022 Welcome to the world little man, born early hours of this morning, this 3/4 colt is yet to be named. Sire is Greenbrook Monte Carlo and Dam is Greenbrook Firefly. Fly is by Its Smokey out of the QHX mare, Oreo. He will mature around 14hh to 14.2hh and may be a smokey black as he is very cream around his eyes and flanks although as he will a partbred gelding, he will not be colour tested. Now for a name????
04.01.2022 Lots of excitement yesterday as we welcomed Greenbrook Silver Shadow, this little man is a 75% Gypsy Cob x 25% Fell and he is all quality, put together like the fine fittings of a Rolls Royce. Great bone, short coupled, good shoulder, clean joints, pretty pony head and feather to boot. He is the first foal on the ground by our young up and coming stallion Greenbrook Monte Carlo out of Watermark Dolly aka Dora and what a great little pony he will become. The fact that he was born with large goggles is an indication that he will grey out at a fairly young age. Very excited to watch this boy fill out in the coming days and weeks.
04.01.2022 Last Sunday dawned cold and dull with passing showers for "Ollie's"first Birthday party, so it was moved in under the carport. By mid morning the sun came out and it progressed into a nice day. The kids started by asking if they could feed the horses, soon followed by requests for rides. Greenbrook Southern Bow was brought in from the paddock, still wet, we put a saddle cloth and roller on her to keep the kids dry. Bow was a champ and patiently walked around the round yard do...zens of time with her small charges and even stood quietly whilst she was accosted by a toddler with a yellow balloon LOL. Bow is rising 4 yrs old and was started under saddle in November, although due to my shoulder surgeries she has not been in work since Christmas, however she took it all in her stride. I love this filly. Photos were taken on Cindy's phone as I was leading Bow. NB: As we were not really prepared for pony rides and we don't have a helmet small enough, all rides were at a walk in the round yard with the child being held by an adult. See more
02.01.2022 Welcome to the world "Greenbrook Titan" Watermark The Phantom and Glenbogyl Park Southern Skye have produced a big solid black colt on Monday night, even at birth he was halfway up Skye's ribs. We were away when he was born and Cindy was on foal watch for me, she called me and sent through the first pic saying "Congrats mum you have a Shire colt" LOL Other pics taken today at 5 days old, he is friendly, very inquisitive and a big boned lad. It is a shame he was born in a drou...ght and the only green pick is where we pump bore water onto the ground in the foaling paddock to give the new mums a green pick. He will mature around 15hh and be very striking under saddle or in harness as a solid black with white bling, he will make some lucky person a great show prospect with a sweet nature. Sorry for the phone pics, as I have not had a chance to get the camera out for some proper shots yet. A big thanks to Cindy for coming up to do foal watch whilst we were away for 3 days :) See more
02.01.2022 With the passing of Sean Connery overnight, I have decided upon a name for our boy, welcome Greenbrook Draco. Sean Connery did the voice of Draco and I loved that movie, so as a tribute to his life Greenbrook Draco it is :)
02.01.2022 Greenbrook Silver Shadow - 3 days old meets Greenbrook Coco Novella now 8 days old.
