23.01.2022 Sunday Culture trip; The Cuban Sandwich The argument over the origins of the Cuban sandwich ( also called Cubano ) have been going on for many years. Some say it was first introduced more than 500 years ago by the Taíno tribe in Cuba, who inhabited the island long before the Spaniards arrived. But in Cuba, the sandwich was not known as a ‘Cuban’ sandwich, but simply called ‘sandwich’. The good folk of Tampa and Miami Florida however, lay claim it was developed by them for th...e Cuban Tobacco workers who migrated to south Florida in the 1800s. Since Cuba is only 90 miles from Florida, many Cubans moved to Key West in the late 1800s to avoid Spanish Rule. The Cuban cigar manufacturers also wanted a safer place to manufacture. This marked the beginning of a significant Cuban influence in Key West and the rest of Florida that continues today. Can we pull off a plant-based version of this historical sandwich? We sure can. 12.01.2022 If you have tried placing an order on our website or through Google recently you would have found that your order went unanswered. We had a major technical issue that meant we did not see the orders coming through to us. To make matters worse, disabling the app until we could find a solution also didnt work. We have worked with the app's tech support and believe we have fixed the issue and should be back online shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience. This was a very frustrating situation for us.

11.01.2022 INTRODUCING FUTURE SUSHI "Konichiwa"said the future salmon roll. Moshi moshi yelled the peking duck maki. Rice to meet you" yelled the ginger and soy marinated ‘tuna’ poke bowl. They had all gathered to spread the good word that change was on the horizon, a sea change of sorts and a chance to turn the tide on the impact man has had on the worlds oceans. A big call we know, but it’s gotta start somewhere right? And what better place than by bringing you some plant-based sus...hi that feels, tastes and rolls like the real deal. The difference - it’s all 100% plant-based baby! If you know the people behind the Green Burger Group, you’ll know we’ve been travelling back and forth to Japan’s alpine region for years now for the business of bars. It was actually here that we first tested our plant-based burgers as we planned Green Burgers launch a few years back. Oh we know. The words ‘vegan’ and ‘Japan’ are not words you see together much, but alas we like to cause trouble, the tasty type. And boy did they embrace us. It's our time in Japan slinging plant-based burgers whilst staring at the art of sushi, coupled with the knowledge that the health of our marine environments are at a critical point, that brings us here. But our soon-to-launch new sushi brand isn’t just about fish. How does peking 'duck' maki roll, cucumber, pickled carrot and char sui bbq sauce sound? Or the Korean ‘beef bulgogi’ with kimchi, spring onion and kewpie? Or the panko crusted 'chicken' katsu with Sriracha. Because of restrictions, we’ve paused the opening of our first stand alone store and will be rolling online only for now, but it’s coming! Finally, we wanted to throw you some love.
