A project still in progress, but I'm sure the Belles will be grateful for the start we've made on this year's winter weeds. Thanks to our special helper, Nicole, for your assistance. Head Lice Unfortunately head lice are an ongoing battle for schools and parents. Here are some tips as a reminder on how to prevent head lice. Check your child’s hair weekly for head lice and eggs (‘nits’). Use a metal fine tooth ‘nit’ comb and plenty of hair conditioner applied to the dry hair, to make the task easier and more effective. Tie long hair back. Braid long hair and/or put it up if possible. Consider applying hair gel or mousse. These do not prevent or repel lice but may help to keep stray hair strands from contact with other heads. Avoid sharing combs or brushes. Remind your child to avoid head-to-head contact with other students, e.g. when working at computers, looking at phones and during any close physical contact. 13.01.2022 This morning we attended a lovely Remembrance Day Service at the Greenbushes Cenotaph alongside many RSL and community members. We were very lucky to have Shannon Hartwell, a member of the light horse troop there with her horse Sergeant which was a highlight for the kids as you will see from the photos. On conclusion of the ceremony, everyone came up to the school to enjoy morning tea.

08.01.2022 SWOOPING MAGPIES DURING BREEDING SEASON The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions would like to remind you that the magpie breeding season is approaching. It is not uncommon for magpies to defend their nests and young during spring, by swooping intruders. The season may last for six to eight weeks during late August to September. We ho...pe to work with families to develop a common language and skill-set for understanding and managing anxiety. As such, school staff will be in attendance at the session and children will be supervised for the duration. We sincerely hope families can join us for this outstanding training opportunity.
