24.01.2022 R U OK Day is a reminder of the importance of looking out for people every day. While our pets can bring us plenty of love and support, there are many going through some rough times. This year, we’re also raising awareness that R UO K? coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day. This day is an annual international awareness day observed on 10 September each year to provide a focus for dedicated action to prevent suicide and is an opportunity to share a message of hope and a...ction in the community. By asking R U OK, it may help someone feel supported and provide access to appropriate help long before they’re in crisis. For more information and to get involved, please head to www.ruok.org.au
23.01.2022 They seem to always know when food is around, but what's the strangest thing your dog has managed to sniff out. We all know dogs have an incredible sense of smell; but it gets even more amazing. Our WebVets have shared with us that dogs can smell disease. The diseased or cancerous cells secrete different waste products to healthy cells, and the dogs’ nose can detect these tiny differences in smell. Amazing!

14.01.2022 PET OF THE MONTH Meet Louie! Louie is a beautiful 5 month old golden retriever who has been coming to visit us here at the clinic since he was only 8 weeks of age! Louie loves going for walks on the beach & playing with his dad, Riley According to his mum Lauren, his favourite treat is BBQ chicken and loves greek yogurt! Recently Louie has been spending a lot of his spare time here at the clinic and despite all he has gone through as a young pup he still gets excited to see all the girls and Dr. Jeff and is still up for a cuddle and a play. We all love seeing Louie here at the clinic and he is our pet of the month for being such a friendly, happy boy and for winning all the nurses over with his gentle but playful nature!!

11.01.2022 Being a mother is one of life’s greatest achievements, and we passionately believe that being a vet is the next greatest! In honour of Mother’s Day tomorrow, some of the best new mums and vets tell us what it’s like to navigate the two. Dr. Jessica (Regional Clinical Director and Hugo's Mum) - ... "I think being a vet has helped prepare me for motherhood - late nights, no lunch breaks, being pooped on, and being constantly stressed about what they just put in their mouth! I’m so lucky to have been able to experience both." Dr. Ashlinn (Vet Director & Amelia's Mum) - "I love it! [motherhood] It’s better than I had imagined. Everyday there is a new surprise, a new development, an exciting milestone or a new challenge. Dr. Patricia (Emergency & Critical Care Specialist Animal Referral Hospital & Scarlett's Mum plus pregnant with twins.) "I would have to say being a vet is harder. [than being a mum] I may, however, feel differently when I have three teenage daughters!
