15.01.2022 Meet Rocky We first met Rocky when he was just 6 weeks old after his owners came to see us because they had noticed he had an unusual lump on his tummy. After a consultation with Dr James the lump was identified as an umbilical hernia. Umbilical hernias are caused by an incomplete closure of the umbilical ring after birth and depending on the size they can go away on their own as the puppy grows. However Rockys was just big enough for part of the intestines to poke through, twist and get stuck becoming trapped or injured. So the next day Rocky was booked in for surgery to repair the hernia and everything went very smoothly! The surgery site healed up very nicely and Rocky was looking and feeling great at all his check-ups. The team at Greencross Midland are so excited to see Rocky grow up happy and healthy!
