16.01.2022 They seem to always know when food is around, but what's the strangest thing your dog has managed to sniff out. We all know dogs have an incredible sense of smell; but it gets even more amazing. Our WebVets have shared with us that dogs can smell disease. The diseased or cancerous cells secrete different waste products to healthy cells, and the dogs’ nose can detect these tiny differences in smell. Amazing!

15.01.2022 Like humans, guinea pigs cannot produce their own vitamin C. Instead of a glass of OJ, they'll need plenty of leafy greens and a good quality pelleted diet. #WarmingWednesdays

12.01.2022 Being a mother is one of life’s greatest achievements, and we passionately believe that being a vet is the next greatest! In honour of Mother’s Day tomorrow, some of the best new mums and vets tell us what it’s like to navigate the two. Dr. Jessica (Regional Clinical Director and Hugo's Mum) - ... "I think being a vet has helped prepare me for motherhood - late nights, no lunch breaks, being pooped on, and being constantly stressed about what they just put in their mouth! I’m so lucky to have been able to experience both." Dr. Ashlinn (Vet Director & Amelia's Mum) - "I love it! [motherhood] It’s better than I had imagined. Everyday there is a new surprise, a new development, an exciting milestone or a new challenge. Dr. Patricia (Emergency & Critical Care Specialist Animal Referral Hospital & Scarlett's Mum plus pregnant with twins.) "I would have to say being a vet is harder. [than being a mum] I may, however, feel differently when I have three teenage daughters!

05.01.2022 PETS IN THUNDERSTORMS We have had some really wild weather the last few days. Often dogs get scared with the noise and electricity in the air. Some things you can do to make them more comfortable include: *Bring your dog inside *Let your dog hide if they want to, sometimes under the bed or in a crate can make them feel safer. *Distractions such as music, play time or food dispensing toys can help ... *Products such as Thundershirts, and Adaptil can help *In severe cases some dogs may need medication and this is something to discuss with your vet. Ph: 8398 2855 if you have any other questions and keep your pets safe Circe and Juno pictured lazing around
