25.01.2022 This Christmas we are remembering the pets we have lost in a special way by naming a star in their honour. We know how hard the first Christmas, birthday or anniversary can be since a pet's passing as they are usually part of family celebrations. This is our team's way of celebrating the lives of these patients and the times we helped them and their families

25.01.2022 Did you know that we provide Laser Therapy for our patients? Harvey visits us twice weekly for laser treatments for a soft tissue injury. We love seeing Harvey improve after each treatment (plus he looks so cute in our fancy Doggles!) We routinely use our laser for osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, hot spots, ear infections/inflammation, post-operative wound healing, trauma or injury (sprain/strains, cruicate ligament tears) and more!... Laser therapy works by using the energy delivered by the light to increase the production of cell fuel, reduce inflammation and pain and increase the circulation in treated areas. Laser therapy promotes improved function in the growth, replication and repair of cells.

24.01.2022 Dental disease is inflammation of the teeth and gums caused by the build-up of plaque and tartar. Doggy-breath is a sign that dental disease could be present. For more information, head to https://bit.ly/3gMj00y

23.01.2022 We were visited by musical royalty today! Snoop Dogg was keen to show off his harness and lead inspired by Snoop Dogg himself

22.01.2022 Thank you to ACT Emergency Services Agency for responding so quickly to a structural fire at our clinic tonight. We are incredibly lucky that there were no people or patients in our clinic at the time and no other businesses were impacted. Due to this, we will be closed tomorrow Thursday 17 December and will be keeping our clients who have appointments and surgeries booked updated. For any enquires from our clients, please contact us via email on [email protected] as our phones will be down.

21.01.2022 Greencross Vets Phillip will be closed on the public holidays of Monday 1 June and Monday 8 June. If your pet has an emergency on these days, please phone Greencross Vets All Creatures in Tuggeranong between 9am - 1pm on 6292 1900 or the Animal Referral Hospital Canberra in Fyshwick on 6280 6344.

20.01.2022 Did you know our nurses can trim the nails, wings and beaks of birds? Here are some beautiful cockatiels who visited us today for their wing trim, including a cute little 7 week old chick!

20.01.2022 Meet Mr Gibbons This sweet boy presented to us last week with some serious neurological symptoms - he couldn't keep his head up or walk straight, he wasn't eating or drinking much and kept urinating outside of his litter tray. After an ultrasound, some fluid therapy and steroids to go home with, we heard that Mr Gibbons seemed to be improving. He's now eating and drinking again, and his kidneys were much smaller which is an excellent response to the medication. We witnessed this improvement when Mr Gibbons walked himself (which he couldn't do only a week before!) around our treatment room and made himself comfortable on our blanket pile

19.01.2022 How cute is little Woodstock and his older brother Snoopy?! We love our Dachshund patients!

17.01.2022 In recent months further cases of Canine Leptospirosis have been reported. We strongly recommend vaccination against leptospirosis for dogs who have known contact with rats (hunting/eating) and recommend discouraging your dog from drinking from stagnant water (e.g. puddles/ponds). The early warning signs of leptospirosis are subtle - here are a few of the symptoms to watch out for: Lethargy or exhaustion Disinterest and quietness... Haemorrhaging under the skin (bruising) Blood in the urine Vomiting and diarrhoea To check your pet's vaccination status or to book in for a Leptospirosis vaccination, please contact us on 02 6285 2637. The leptospirosis vaccination is covered under Healthy Pets Plus!

16.01.2022 Hill’s Pet Nutrition campaign 'Feed the Love' shows two new short films that each tell a tale of love and loss by showing how our emotional relationships can create the problem of pet obesity and also, ultimately, provide the best way to solve itsimply by changing what goes into their bowl. It shows how our emotions can play a key role in how we interact with our pets, affecting everything we do for dogs and cats, including how we feed them

15.01.2022 Alfie had just returned from the coast when his owner noticed a tick on his neck! After a quick trip to the vet to remove the pesky tick and a yummy (peanut butter covered) Bravecto chew later, Alfie is back at home like nothing ever happened What our Vets discovered was a tiny Nymph Tick - luckily it wasn't fully engorged onto Alfie's skin and hadn't reached the adult life stage (which is the most deadly). It's very important to make sure your pet is up to date on tick prevention, especially when travelling to the coast. We also recommend checking your pet over (like Alfie's owner did!) when coming home from the coast too.

15.01.2022 Unfortunately, our Phillip clinic suffered substantial damage from the fire last night. We are relieved to report that no pets, team members or clients were in the building at the time and everyone is safe. The clinic is closed until further notice and for those clients who have upcoming consultations booked, we will reach out to you to reschedule with a nearby Greencross Vet Clinic. We are working with authorities to determine the cause of the fire, initial investigation lea...ds us to believe it was caused by an electrical fault inside the building. Your pet’s records are secure and you can visit Greencross Vets clinics nearby. Healthy Pets Plus Members can use their benefits at any Greencross Vets location. Thank you for your understanding, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

14.01.2022 Snuffle mats are a hit with our puppies, but Maisey thought it was pretty neat too! These mats are great for feeding your pets in an interactive and enriching way, and a great way to keep our patients busy while our vets do some tests!

13.01.2022 How lucky is Louis to have Dr Sara as his own personal chauffeur during his puppy health check?! If you've recently brought home a new puppy, call us to book in for your puppy health check too! This involves weighing and checking your puppy's temperature, a full examination from their nose to their tail, and lots of love and treats!

13.01.2022 It's been a while since we've seen our clients in the reception area and we miss you! Have you forgotten what it looks like? We are fully stocked and ready to see you all again! We are now allowing a maximum of three clients and their pets into our waiting area. To make sure we aren't overcrowding, we ask that you still call us on arrival for us to give the go-ahead to come on in. If you are unwell at the time of your appointment, we can easily reschedule you to when you are feeling better. Thanks to all of our clients for your support during these times!

13.01.2022 Each and every pet that comes through our door receives so much love from our team, but our receptionist Caitlin always goes the extra mile - little Hobbes enjoyed snuggling up with her while waiting for his appointment today

06.01.2022 Butters feeling funky and fresh after his brush with Nurse Sophie! It can be hard to get a booking with the groomers in Spring, so why not drop your pet off with our experienced groomer?

03.01.2022 Nurse Jackie and our receptionist Caitlin were swooning over little Billie who was in for his very first vet check up today! He was given the full tick of approval for his health and lots of cuddles afterwards
