20.01.2022 Greendale successful in funding bid for new fire fighting vehicle. Greendale Rural Fire brigade has been successful in its application for an Ultra-Light Tanker (ULT) through the 2020-21 Volunteer Emergency Service Equipment Program (VESEP) round of funding. The ULT is a quick response vehicle and will replace our existing Ford Ranger Slip-on. ... It does not require a special licence - so all members with a car licence are able to drive it and the vehicle carries additional fire-fighting equipment. VESEP provides funding to eligible Volunteer Emergency Services to purchase ancillary equipment in recognition of volunteers ongoing contribution in protecting Victorian communities. CFA brigades and groups will receive a share in more than $10 million in funding from the State Government as part of the 2020-21 VESEP grants. The Victorian Government funding requires a co-contribution and this has been made possible by the generosity of our local community over a number of years, for which the brigade is grateful. This new tanker will help to ensure the best response possible in protecting the local community. The images below are an example of the new vehicle you can expect to see in the not too distant future.
