17.01.2022 One of the most difficult goodbyes I've had to say (and there have been many) was to my precious Angel dog, Faith. She was my best friend, my sidekick, my therapist, my protector, my everything. 15 years ago (during my vet nursing days) at only a few months old a little brown dog arrived from the pound to be put to sleep. The minute I saw her bouncing at the kennel gate, so happy and sweet, I knew I couldn't let her die. When I called the rangers to let them know we wouldn't... be euthanasing they told me it was a bad idea to take her home...she might end up aggressive . This couldn't have been further from the truth, never have I met a more gentle nurturing dog. She was obsessed with babies of any species, she helped me raise orphaned lambs, piglets, chick's, kitten's and of course 2 small humans. Phoenix and Aurora have never known life without their sweet 4 legged friend and it's been a difficult goodbye for them too. Faith in her younger years, was thrilled to be appointed the official greeting party and occasional tour guide at the sanctuary. A job she was made for! It's going to be so hard to get used to her not being here, we are devastated that this was the only way to end her suffering but also grateful to have been able to say farewell. To be able to hold her close, kiss her and tell her how much we loved her as she drifted away after 15 glorious, joyful years. Sleep well my special girl. I'll love you and miss you forever and ever and ever.

16.01.2022 Let's talk sanctuary tours Over the past few weeks we've received quite a few messages and emails from people asking how/when they can come to visit the sanctuary. It's important to remember that GPS is a private residence and we're not open to the public on a day to day basis. However! We love welcoming visitors for group tours, private tours and fundraising events. GROUP TOURS... These are held twice per month on either a Saturday or Sunday. You can always find the tour dates in the events section of our Facebook page or on our website. Lately, our tours have been in high demand which means they are selling out quickly. We release new tours/events early to our email subscribers, so if you're keen as a bean to visit, make sure you jump onto our website and sign up so you're the first to know. PRIVATE TOURS These can be organised on a mutually agreeable date by emailing us at [email protected]. We can accommodate private tours for up to 15 people for a donation of $200 which is payable upon booking. If you'd like to head in and meet Fergie Fox with your group, this is capped at 4 people to keep her happy! If there's anything else you'd like to know, please comment below

Despite being purchased for nearly $100,000, when he blew both his front suspensory tendons, his previous 'owners' were not willing to give him 12 months of rest, instead opting to send him to be killed. He is now one of the lucky ones, a loved GPS family member who will live out the rest of his days at a sanctuary that will never expect anything from him. 13.01.2022 HAPPY GOTCHA DAY RUBEN! A year ago today we collected a teenie orphaned lamb who was in need of his very own forever. We fell in love instantly and it's been such a pleasure to watch him grow and grow and GROW! He's one of the biggest GPS lambs to date, visitors would gasp when we explained this huge boy was just 6-7 months old! Cheeky, naughty and always hungry, caring for him is such a privilege. Here's to many more years of telling him off for trying to break into the feed trailer, cuddling his best pal Creepy Steve and reminding us all that sheep aren't so different from the canines we share our homes with

Vet visits, surgeries, wonderful generosity from our supporters, and the loss of our beautiful Hizzy Pig. Tonight, at 8pm we will be releasing tickets to our biggest fundraising event of the year. 10.01.2022 Varn's face when she sees the strawberry packet Varn came to us after her human passed away a few years ago. Now in her golden years this 19 year old fiesty gal spends her days lazing in the back yard, head butting volunteers and making sure her frenemy Lola stays away from her berries Varn battles with age related liver & kidney issues and we've had a number of close calls where we didn't know if she was going to make it. But she's tough and her strength is unwavering - we treasure her dearly (headbutts and all)

08.01.2022 This is Vinnie's 'FOOD NOW HUMAN' stomp Vincent Van Goat came to us as a teenie little kid. A family were travelling up to northern WA when they came across a wild goat mumma who had been struck by a car and killed. Little Vinnie was orphaned, alone and certainly wouldnt have made it if left to fend for himself. Thankfully, the family scooped him up and brought him along on their travels. Upon returning to Perth, they knew he needed a permanent home with big paddocks, juic...y pasture and plenty of goaty friends. And thats exactly how Vinnie, a well travelled goat, found his way to GPS where he has grown into a naughty, sometimes grumpy and very loveable dude

03.01.2022 Ahimsa, the ethical principle of not causing harm to other living things. We live by it and the name suited her to a tee, she was sweet, gentle and forgiving. She battled with skin cancer for years and through it all Hizzy pig never held a grudge against anyone for the vet visits and treatments. Today it was discovered that the skin cancer was no longer just that, it had gone internal and was making her very unwell. We ended her brief period of suffering peacefully while I st...roked her beautiful face and told her how much her beloved sister Trix and I would miss her. 01.01.2022 EMERGENCY RESCUE Today we have been contacted about a 5 day old foal who needs us. This sweet darling is suffering with a ruptured eyeball due to untreated ulcers (pictures in the comments). We are her last hope, her euthanasia was booked for TOMORROW morning.... We are URGENTLY trying to raise an initial $2,000 so we can help save her life and give her a second chance. Her 'good' eye, is ulcerated and this will require ongoing care, not included in the $2,000 total. We know times are tough for many at the moment, but if you're able to please help us, help her. 01.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to our handsome Dragon Dragon found his way to GPS in 2018 when he was just 7 months old after being rescued from a hoarding situation with fellow lady goats Judy & Lola. As we have a strict no breeding policy, we swiftly booked in his castration however we soon learnt the deed had already been done! ... Not long after, Judy gave birth to Puff & Elliot and Lola gave birth to Toothless & Spiro - two sets of twins!! The father of four has been an outstanding & doting Dad since their birth. He makes us SO proud and serves as an important reminder that animals share a deep bond with their family, just like we do
