25.01.2022 Re-introduced Greenfields NF Lodur to the bachelor herd today. He's known three of the boys from before he spent 11 months with the mares, but the last two are new to him and are a rising two year old colt and a soon to be yearling colt. There will be some rough play, but so far there's only play. This video is a compilation of perhaps the first 30 minutes, before they all settled back down to eating.

21.01.2022 SOLD Greenfields NF Lars, rising 5 year old Norwegian Fjord Horse gelding. This lovely boy would really like to find himself a person all to himself to share his wonderful big heart with and to start moving forward with towards whatever his future will bring him. He's got potential in spades and is very ready to start moulding into your perfect equestrian partner. Gently started under saddle and brought along slowly allowing him to continue to grow and mature. 17.01.2022 We're very pleased to announce our second filly for the year, the very adorable (not biased at all) Greenfields NF Quality. She's by Te Klein Ike out of Greenfields Irene and was born at 10.35 last night. Mare and foal are doing well.

15.01.2022 Welcome to the world Greenfields NF Quest. A nice filly foal by Te Klein Ike out of Seaview Park Becki. Mare and foal are doing well.

13.01.2022 Two of my mares are spending time at the vets to get inseminated. My vet filmed this this morning.... Good for a laugh

13.01.2022 From time to time I see questions about wether you must hog a mane if it has fallen. I firmly believe most manes can be saved and this is my process (photos in collage): 1. Mane squished by neck rug (definitely not the worst, but functional for demonstration purposes) 2. Lather up the mane using plenty of shampoo 3. While full of shampoo, comb through and lift it up so you can see what you're working with 4. Using a comb and a sharp pair of scissors comb a section at a time u...p and trim at least a third of the total length or if it has gotten very long trim for an arch where the top will be approx 7cm tall (sometimes you need shorter, sometimes you can go longer) 5. Comb the trimmed mane upright and leave the suds in for a good 15 minutes or however long it takes you to scrub the rest of the horse. 6. Rinse out the mane, towel dry and comb up again. Trim any flyaways and uneven areas. Very rare to not have a standing mane after this process for me. Angle of photo makes the arch look like it is out of place, but in reality it has it highest point at the point of shoulder. Including washing the horse as well, this process took 32 minutes of which trimming was 4-5 minutes all up. I find it the absolutely easiest way to get a neat finishing product. For those with thick manes, this process is also great to get that trimmed neatly as well. Happy trimming! :D

13.01.2022 We are currently offering an amazing two-in-one package if the very best of homes comes along. Greenfields Irene is in foal to Te Klein Ike for an August 2020 foal, has competed to EA Novice in dressage, with potential for much much more, and is currently coming back into light work after a nice long spell to finish growing. Check her out on www.fjordhorse.com.au/wp/for-sale-eoi/ for further details

12.01.2022 Greenfields NF Nisse, rising 3 year old (on 20.10.2020) Norwegian Fjord gelding. Nisse is a friendly, inquisitive young horse that in time will make a wonderful ridden prospect for any discipline. He's extremely cuddly and wants to interact, so spend the next 12 months building a relationship on the ground and working him lightly in hand getting him ready for starting and you'll have built yourself a partner horse that will go from strength to strength for life. He's currently standing at approximately 14hh and looks to follow his older brother's growth pattern so we dare to expect another few inches from him if he's allowed to put his energy into growing and maturing. http://fjordhorse.com.au/for-sale-eoi/greenfields-nf-nisse/ https://youtu.be/dzzySJIqhQ8

09.01.2022 Seaview Park Bridget and Te Klein Ike would like me to introduce you to their latest daughter; Greenfields NF Queen. Mum and bub are doing great, with all post partum check boxes ticked in less than an hour. This concludes the foaling season here at Greenfield's Stud.

09.01.2022 It's official. Greenfield's NF Myklebust has found his new forever home, and will be heading into a happy future in the next week or so. We would like to congratulate his new owner on this beautiful match and we're looking forward to hearing about his adventures as he becomes her lovable partner in crime. May they continue the love affair that started on viewing and have decades of enjoyment together.

09.01.2022 Greenfield's Stud is proudly offering Greenfields NF Margit, a 4 year old filly, ready to start or breed (purebred only) as you wish. Please se her advertisement for all details. http://fjordhorse.com.au/for-sale-eoi/greenfields-nf-margit/

07.01.2022 With Greenfields NF Odin's prognosis for a full recovery locked in it was time to start the next step on the journey of rehabilitation for him. Couldn't really get a better opportunity than to bring him along to day two of my clinic with the ever amazing Belinda Bolsenbroek, who's incredible eye for rehabilitating injured horses never cease to astound me. Really can't fault this young colt. He'll be two at the end of the month and took everything very much in his stride. He was also super fortunate and had the guiding hand of Belinda teaching him the foundations that are now the homework for us for the next few weeks or so.

07.01.2022 Greenfields NF Lodur (Mogly; imp semen X Seaview Park Becki) has spent the last 15 days as the demonstration horse during a colt starting clinic here at Greenfield's Stud. Today was his 9th time carrying the weight of a human in as many days, and it was my turn. Have to thank Tanja Kraus of Tanja Kraus Horsemanship for once again producing a confident happy horse for me to bring along further in his education. Looking forward to watching this young stallion continue to mature and develop.

07.01.2022 Time for this sweet boy to get some attention again. First ride since January, and he didn't put a foot wrong. Very unfit and therefore not strong enough to hold posture, but it came through in little brilliant glimpses. This young man is a fun project for someone as he is such a fast learner. https://www.fjordhorse.com.au//for-sa/greenfields-nf-lars/

07.01.2022 Greenfield's Stud would like to wish Fjord Lovers near and far a Happy New Year. 2020 looks to become a big year for the stud; -We've got two horses currently looking for their very own person to love them like we do. -The junior stallion is just about to commence his ridden life, and is expecting his first foal next spring. -We've got some really nice tall youngsters coming up through the ranks, which we're looking forward to commencing some further education with. ... -And spring will bring us the excitement of the pitter patter of more lovely foals by our senior stallion as well. All in all a big year ahead. If you're looking for that future love of your life, please get in touch. If the right owner comes along we may be persuaded to let something go ahead of schedule as well. May 2020 bring you all happiness and the love of a great Fjord!

07.01.2022 Greenfields NF Myklebust safely joined his lovely new owner, Harrie Phillips, back on Wednesday. He's spent the last few days settling in and starting to form a bond. I'm very exited to follow this pair in the future, may it be bright and happy for both of them.

06.01.2022 I was editing footage of Myklebust for a different project and realised I got some decent footage of how easy it is to quickly trim up a mane. For those that think it'll fall in the too hard basket, my advice is to be brave and just go for it. This mane gets a good trim like this about every month so your mistakes are quickly grown back out so you can try again. Just have fun with it.

06.01.2022 No time is ever wasted in the presence of foals, but it is amazing how time flies as well...

05.01.2022 The benefits of running your mares and foals together was obvious this morning. All the mothers could walk off and eat at their favourite patches, while the foals could rest and relax surrounded and safe.

05.01.2022 Almost a year ago I posted about our miracle boy Odin beating the odds and looking likely to make a full recovery. Today we had what turned out to be his final check up. He's now officially off the patient list, with a 100% athletic recovery "guaranteed". When I got him off the float I thought I'd show you all my beautiful boy trotting around sound and happy. He's definitely in the age group where you don't do a lot of videos as everything fits together a bit weirdly, and he'd pooed all down his legs, but here he is; fluffy, filthy and sound... So happy this sweet young colt was given every opportunity by vets, nurses and us as his future is bright.

04.01.2022 Greenfields NF Lars, born 10.10.2015. It's not pretty yet, but this young man has potential in spades. He was broken in in July 2019 and was lightly ridden until the fires covered us in smoke at the beginning of September. Until the smoke finally disappeared at Christmas he had maybe a handful of short rides on clear days, but was essentially turned out as he was also growing. Put a couple of rides on him in January, but due to being injured myself I didn't follow through.... This video is from his second ride back on 15.04.2020. This horse tries hard, and is a very fast learner. His laterals are coming, even tried them at the trot in that session. They're still slow and a bit messy, but that's a strength and fitness thing. I'm really happy with this young boy. Lars would love to find his forever home. He's a loving boy, and if you're kind and fair he'll trust you in everything. The rate this horse picks up new skills as is a lot of fun, and I think he'll make a beautiful competitive mount in any discipline of your choice. He loved trying mounted games at his first ridden outing when he'd been under saddle for about a month, and would stand around snoozing while we waited for our show classes. For a young horse, he's extremely level headed. See https://www.fjordhorse.com.au//for-sa/greenfields-nf-lars/ for further info

02.01.2022 Greenfields NF Lars has started his journey to less itchy pastures. He's going to the lovely Lesley Cameron in the Canberra region to be her new riding gelding. Can't wait to follow this pair into the future.

02.01.2022 Foal spam time. Almost 12 hours old, cute as a button if I do say so myself, and as with all Bridget's foals, another independent spirit. I'm in love. Greenfields NF Queen
