25.01.2022 #autumnharvest #autumnplanting and #seedsaving It is so much fun to harvest the food we talked about and planted last time I visited #kindergarten It is also rewarding when a four year old remembers what I told them 3 months ago! "I remember you said last time that it doesn't matter if the carrots are big or small, they are still tasty and important" There is a deeper meaning to this statement! Something to take through all aspects of our lives!

21.01.2022 A special day today having the creator of the original #gayethegardengirl with me at Magill Primary School. Stepping into the now vacant Garden Girl 2 position, my 15 year old daughter Skye who created a drawing of Gaye the Garden Girl when she was 8 years old was so helpful on this hot day, having finished her exams. She even made sure I ate lunch and drank water, which sometimes I allow myself to run out of time for! #glgardengirls #thegreenhiptribe #greenhip

20.01.2022 When my 12 year old came home from school yesterday asking "is my world in the future going to look as good as it does today because my #teachers keep saying about all the problems (population growth, climate change, food security, pollution) This is what drives #greenhillliving Unless we can get our students outside, get their hands dirty and give them the skills and knowledge to see solutions, they are only going to see the problems inside a classroom. 08.01.2022 The wonderful world of worms! We love it when 5 year olds take their understanding of how things work to a new level. The #teachers at Lady George Kindergarten today acknowledged what was learned and helped students create this special signage. If you haven't understood the layers of a worm farm, this 5 year old interpreted it so well. Kitchen, Bedroom, Toilet! The children at Wattle Park Kindergarten were also thrilled to check out the #compost they made and spread it on their garden!

03.01.2022 Talking about decorating with #plantsnotplastic for Christmas in schools at the moment, while demonstrating #careforourenvironment One yr1 student today said at the end of the lesson "I feel so proud of myself for caring for our environment just now, I'd so prefer plants around me over money" We had to show lots of care watering the plants today ahead of forecast warm weather!
