24.01.2022 We are incredibly proud to announce that Mauritius is now COVID-FREE. We are humbled that the World Travel & Tourism Council has recognised the efforts put in... by Mauritian authorities and communities in the fight against #Covid19, and has thus labelled Mauritius as a #SafeDestination. Since March, Mauritius has faced the #coronavirus pandemic with #unwavering commitment. Today, we look forward to welcoming visitors again as we prepare to reopen our borders #MauritiusUnwavering #MauritiusReopening #SeeYouSoon

16.01.2022 2 Great Tourist Attractions in Mauritius The sub-tropical climate, fantastic beaches, diverse wildlife, and multi-ethnic population of Mauritius make the countr...y’s tourism industry one of the most robust in the world. In January 2012 at the World Travel Awards, Mauritius garnered its third World Leading Island Destination award as well as World’s Best Beach award. Famously known as the only known habitat of the extinct Dodo bird, Mauritius has many tourist attractions that can turn your stop at the island country into a memorable and fun-filled vacation. Here are two Mauritius tourist destinations that you should not miss. Black River Gorges National Park One of the most enthralling tourist attractions in Mauritius is the hilly stretch of greenery in Black River Gorges National Park. Sightseeing at the Black River Peak, the tallest point in the island, lets you take in the expansive rainforest. The national park protects many species of animals and endemic plants, including the Mauritian flying fox, pink pigeon Mauritius cuckoo-shrike, Mauritius kestrel, Mauritius parakeet, and Mauritius bulbul. Chamarel Park The seven-colored clay landscape in Chamarel Park is a geological curiosity that is truly unique to Mauritius, making the park a major tourist attraction in the island. The dunes sport red, purple, brown, violet, green, blue, and yellow clay. Chamarel Park also has another famous attraction, the Waterfall of Chamarel, a beautifully plunging drop of approximately 100-meter column of water crashing down into a gorge.

13.01.2022 FELLOW PEOPLE OF MELBOURNE can I request your attention please (if only for a brief moment)?! As some of you are aware, James' job was made redundant at the be...ginning of this madness and like many others, we have had to 'pivot' and get creative (literally) to navigate our way through what we are experiencing collectively. One of the many things that has become evident is that we need to get back to basics and support each other locally in whatever capacity we can. Together we have come up with an idea on what we can contribute and would like to share it with you. Personally, craft has been keeping me sane through these strange times and I have been crafting a lot. Like heaps. As in I need to sew everyday to keep my mind settled and I'm sure I'm not the only one! Meanwhile, James being the IT wiz that he is has built an eCommerce website (using an open source framework) that will enable us locals to buy and sell handmade creations between ourselves without all the hassle. So, if you: a) want to buy unique, handmade goods made right here in Melbourne with the money going straight back into the community and / or b) would like to sell your handmade goods (non perishable) but don't want to deal with the administration, shipping, etc then we invite you to check out our website https://handcraftn.melbourne and let us help you with this. Currently the website is in early developmental stages and we know there will be tweaks, adjustments and improvements that will be required along the way however if we wait until everything is 'perfect' then we will never get it off the ground so why not just get it going and let it grow along the way I say! Some of my personal creations are up to give you an idea of the look and feel of what we are going for but we are looking to basically build it into a little community network of crafters, or a local 'Etsy' if you will and support each other in that way. Please feel free to take a look, provide some feedback, get on board or share with anyone who you feel might be interested and we shall see where it goes from there. Thank you for reading this far if you have and know that we greatly appreciate your support, Kristelle & James xox
