25.01.2022 Today, we opened our doors to families as we showcased our brand new centre in the heart of Carindale. After months of planning and preparation, we were so excited to share the amazing learning environments that we have established specifically to ignite children’s curiosity to explore, engage and grow. All ten of our play environments are designed for age-appropriate development, flexible learning and routine times. Green Leaves are committed to excellent centre presentation.... Our learning hubs and playscapes are at the heart of our centre, where the magic happens! Our Centre Director, Dani Woolfe, welcomes all families to book a tour to experience what Green Leaves Carindale has to offer. Building family connections from day one is part of the Green Leaves way, and we are committed to creating genuine connections with our families and the wider community. We look forward to meeting you all soon!

22.01.2022 As we near our centre tours this coming Thusday, we'd like to introduce you to another friendly team member who you'll get to know very well. Please welcome our Carindale Chef, Leticia, and learn a bit about her through her introductory letter below! "Hello families, My name is Leticia and I’m originally from Brazil. I’ve been living in Australia for 12 years and I’m very happy to call this country my home.... I have a Degree in Management in Hospitality as well as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Patisserie. I’ve been working as a cook/chef for the past 11 years, spending the past 3 years cooking within the Child Care industry. I started working in Child Care when I was looking for a centre to enrol my oldest daughter and I instantly fell in love with the environment. Waking up every morning and going to work where you are surrounded by children and their beautiful smiles is quite motivating and rewarding. I’m very excited to join the Green Leaves family and I hope to get to know every single child and their families at Carindale. Feel free to stop by at our parent lounge and say hello, I’ll be more than happy to greet you and chat about food, exchange recipes and answer any questions you have in relation to our menu. Leticia." Please say hello and make Leticia feel welcome!

12.01.2022 We're getting very close to our centre tours and official opening! Before you visit our beautiful new centre, get to know some of our team who will be supporting your growing family. Up first for our Carindale team introductions is our lovely Centre Director, Danica. Learn more about Danica in her introductory letter! "Hi Families,... I'm excited to be appointed as Centre Director for Green Leaves Early Learning Carindale. Having been in the industry for over 17 years across a multitude of roles, my knowledge, understanding and experiences have shaped my ability to mentor and support my team to a standard of excellence in Early Childhood Education and Care. During my career, I have obtained an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, as well as Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. My personal experiences and views as a mother help shape my behaviours ensuring an inclusive and understanding space for parents to seek support and knowledge. Parents are the child’s first teacher, and my role is to support parents to achieve the goals and hopes they set for their child. I believe every child is an individual and has a right to be seen as a capable learner, who needs understanding and nurturing in a caring and pedagogically rich environment. In our centre, we'll celebrate the benefits of diversity with each individual child and enable them to understand and acknowledge differences. Green Leaves Early Learning will be a home away from home, with nurturing and caring educators who empower the children in our care to grow and learn through play. I look forward to welcoming you all into our beautiful learning environments and forming long-lasting connections. Kind regards, Danica"

10.01.2022 Reading stimulates the part of a child’s brain to grow and be more active. Reading can widen a child’s vocabulary and comprehension ability. Through reading, children develop their empathy, build confidence, and expand their imagination. Don’t have a book? No problems, literacy is everywhere in our everyday lives. - Packages at home or in the supermarket, especially food packaging - Clothing what does it say on the t-shirt? What colour is it?... - Letters and notes what do they say? Who sent them? - Signs or posters in shops, or on buses and trains point out signs that have the same letters as your child’s name. - Menus it can be fun for older children to look at menus and work out what they want to eat. Tips for sharing books with babies and young children. - Make a routine and try to share at least one book every day. A reading chair where you’re both comfortable can become part of your reading routine. - Turn off the TV or technology, put your phone on silent, and find a quiet place to read so your child can hear your voice. - Hold your child close or on your knee while you read, so your child can see your face and the book. - Try out funny noises and sounds play and have fun! - Involve your child by encouraging talk about the pictures, and by repeating familiar words and phrases. - Let your toddler choose the books when they are old enough to start asking and be prepared to read your toddler’s favourite books over and over again!
