17.01.2022 Becky and I headed out to Birgit's to practice our dressage test for our competition. Check out the spectators I had! A couple of them enjoyed twanging the wire right as I'd ride past great desensitisation. Then Birgit and I went for a trail ride with Becky and Falinn. 16.01.2022 What an amazing weekend we have had at our first working equitation competition! So much fun and such a lovely environment. Plus we had the best team with the members of our little club. Becky placed 6th in the dressage, 1st in maneability, 7th in speed, 3rd overall for the three phases and then 2nd in the cattle phase! I was stoked just to manage to get our cow in the pen, let alone getting a fast time. Becky was a wonderful ambassador for the breed and it just shows, Connemaras really do it all! 10.01.2022 I am sure you are all wondering why there have been no recent posts of Maeve under saddle. Unfortunately her allergies have flared up even worse with the arrival of Spring and at the moment all the steroids are doing is keeping her happy in the paddock, she is unable to be ridden for now. Hopefully they will abate again come Summer and she will be back under saddle.

08.01.2022 We had such a blast today! We had a cattle training day for our upcoming Working Equitation competition. Working Equitation can be either three or four phases. There's dressage, maneability (obstacles), speed (also obstacles) and then four phase competitions have the team cattle phase. Becky and Falinn have never worked cattle before, but they did so well! 08.01.2022 Becky next to the Rebecca Tennant arena. Becky is named after Rebecca Tennant. Rebecca was a member of Dennington Pony Club and my riding instructor when I was a kid. She tragically passed away young and I "inherited" Lucy, Becky's dam, from Rebecca.
