23.01.2022 Today was the final day of the event. Scotland 12 games to play. In the morning we won 5 out of 8 against Wales. This meant we had to win 3 of our 4 remainin...g games against England to win the Munro cup. We so nearly succeeded. Playing the last end we were up on 3 and down on one. We ended up winning 2, drawing one and losing one. Congratulations to England, it was a nail-biting finale and England deserved to win this inaugural event. Lots of praise to Team Scotland, I and my fellow coaches could not be prouder of our players, they gave their all. Each and every Nation could say the same. What a wonderful display of bowling at a high level, coupled with a genuine display of friendly rivalry. I have to say a big thanks to my own club for hosting this inaugural event. President John Stewart must be proud of how the club made our visitors feel so very welcome. The caterer pulled out all the stops and everyone was full of praise for the speed of the service, quality of the food and efficient pleasant staff. Provost Billy Buchanan. opened the event, put up a cup for the best players of the games. Darren Burnett presented the awards, joined in a fun game and spent lots of time signing autographs and photo calls. Well done Darren. Thanks to Janice Gower and her management team. They showed how an event should be run. See more
