24.01.2022 The animals were definitely the stars of the show on the recent Greenmount Travel Study Tours to Africa. We saw plenty of farms, but most of the entries in the big African Photo Competition feature the great animal viewing. Here are a few entries from Dibbs Cush, Terrie Mullins and Laurie and Helen Black. More to come!

19.01.2022 On the 2016 Silk Road Study Tour. We'd chased the goats out of the yurts we were sleeping in that night. And the locals put the finishing touches on a large timber deck with a view over the mountains at beautiful Sayram Lake in Xinjiang. After a great dinner of local delicacies, they lit a bonfire on the deck, the music started and the local Uygher, Kazakh and Mongol people drifted in from miles around. A great cultural experience filled with music, dancing and laughter. Video courtesy of John Picone with some photos to follow.

19.01.2022 Greenmount Travel has had a busy few weeks with both Kropping the Klondike tours now fully booked. The South American tour in August will be full very soon. Still plenty of other options including UK and Ireland in August; Mongolia and Siberia (with North Korea option) in July; and Vietnam/Myanmar in September. See the website for more.

10.01.2022 Pyongyang, North Korea. Being shown around the USS Pueblo, captured in 1968 and on display.

10.01.2022 Some great photos from John Picone from the Silk Road tour in July.

09.01.2022 On a recent scouting trip to Kazakhstan, the temperature didn't get above 3C for the whole 5 days. Great friendly people and we should have a wonderful visit there in July on the Silk Road Sojourn. We'll be able to swim in that frozen lake by then.

07.01.2022 Details of all Greenmount Travel farm study tours for 2017 are now online at the website:

03.01.2022 Greenmount Gauchos visiting Bom Futuro group farms in Brazil. This is an operation of incredible scale, the largest soybean producer in the world, along with plenty of cotton, corn and cattle. We even caught a few Tilapia from the fish farm!
