02.01.2022 New heritage sign has gone up in Greenock, in front of the Institute, of a street scene; Murray Street Greenock, circa 1905. A grant was given to the Institute... committee by the Light Regional Council and topped up by the Greenock Heritage group and Schluter Wines. The sign is the second one of its type, the first going up at the Park, which is of the Oddfellows Society 1936, when the Greenock Centenary Park was opened. Another one is planned to go as an interpretive sign near the public art work on the corner of George & Murray streets. They add another layer to the village. See more
