14.01.2022 Part 2 of our livestock watering set up. Forgot to mention in the video we try to keep water within 150m of the cattle this prevents animal tracking down fences and the creation of animal pads, which ultimately leads to soil erosion.

05.01.2022 Lambing is in full swing here at Green Patch! Autumn seems to be the new spring.... beautiful rainfall, sheep lambing, ducklings on the dams.... and a very bright outlook for the year ahead. #greenpatchranch #pastureraisedlamb #autumnisthenewspring

04.01.2022 Our daily chicken trailer move.... taken about a week ago. Our hens are loving the green grass, grasshoppers and their new-found freedom! We are very fortunate to have a relatively low predatory pressure here so while we have electric fencing measures in place on the boundaries of our paddocks, we are no longer running our hens behind nets. They are truly able to free-range on pasture as far as their little legs can take them.... this paddock is approximately 70 acres then ...they return to the trailer to roost at night and lay their eggs. We move the chicken trailer daily to a fresh patch of grass to leave behind their droppings from the night before. This is where true Pasture-Raised Free-Range Eggs come from. 01.01.2022 Found these little fella's hanging out on a fence yesterday morning. I have seen these little sacks attached to fences in the past, but had no idea what they where. Now I know.
