23.01.2022 Today we are showcasing our tireless Chairperson, Johan, who has given his free time for nearly 20 years! His commitment and energy knows no bounds. And with his vibrant leadership, GPCC is now a strong, (normally buzzing) hub of the local communities. Through the CoVid-19, Johan has been instrumental in ensuring those in our community doing it tough, are provided with food hampers and much needed JP services. Johan is the driving force behind this vibrant and beautiful space. We thank you for your volunteering energy!

Attend one of Central Coast Council's free emergency planning workshops taking place across the Coast. Our session at Green Point Community Centre is on Wednesday 28th April from 9:30-12pm. Morning tea is provided.

16.01.2022 2 massive days this week! Our Volunteer elves need a rest so its a wrap up this week for our food pantry. Xmas hampers pick up tomorrow- Monday. If you are a young family doing it tough, don't be shy! Come and grab one. Your family deserve it! 16.01.2022 Soooooo excited to have fabulous fresh produce delivered by Oz Harvest weekly. This week we will were able to help 43 local families. These Oz Harvest boxes come with pasta, rice, tuna, oats, chickpeas, lentils, crackers and a great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables! Incredibly grateful to Luke and the Oz Harvest crew that assemble these boxes every week! We still have 8 boxes if there is anyone that would like a box, please come and pick one up! 08.01.2022 Help Kincumber Rotary raise money for Polio Eradication is on this Thursday at the Avoca Theatre (flyer attached). Can you please help us by spreading the word. Here is a little background into how we are progressing: When Rotary and its partners launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988, there were 350,000 cases of polio in 125 countries every year. We’ve made great progress against the disease since then. Today, polio cases have been reduced by 99.9 percent, and just two countries continue to report cases of wild poliovirus: Afghanistan and Pakistan. And we remain committed to the end.

We are always here to help!!! Our Food Pantry program is a 2-pronged approach. 1 - We help everyone and anyone! families, pensioners, singles, elderly and young!... anyone that needs food support - please don't let you or your friends/family get into dire straits before you give the...m our details, our phone number is (02) 4367 7591. There are no requirements! You don't need a pension concession card or any concession card. Just a donation. 2 - The second part of our 2-pronged approach is saving all of this glorious and fresh food from being ploughed into the earth, especially by local growers! We can't go for any Grants, Community or Government, if we don't have the need. So many families rely heavily on our hampers each week. We'd like to Thank All Our Sponsors that donate Food Pantry. 04.01.2022 Today we want to tell you about Jenny. Jenny has been with GPCC for about 2 years and works 2 days a week as a Volunteer. Jen puts her hand to anything! From sorting our food pantry out and packing hampers to reception, gardening, putting the bins out, checking hire bookings and delivering newsletters. It's the small things that help a busy centre like ours and Jen gives of her time willingly. During the CoVid-19, she comes in occasionly to make sure everything is sanitized and cleaned down as well as packing hampers for home deliveries. Thanks Jenny! Your tireless efforts makes for a connected community.

01.01.2022 Good Golly what a year it’s been! Like most of you this year has been a topsy turvy adventure like no other for GPCC! We kicked the year off revamping the centre with new carpeting and sound system to tempt the party goers for a year of celebrations and centre hire Then Covid hit So, we refocused our energies and became an essential service doing our darndest to ensure our communities didn’t have to tough it out too much. It was to the dedication of our Volunteers that saw u...s through those times Then a huge change of service delivery to start developing a Neighbourhood Centre in Terrigal and a change of name for our Governing body. It was critical for us to maintain GPCC as well as the new Centre so a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the think tank. The year is coming to a close with all of us reeling but smiling. Smiling because we have each other. Smiling because we know that in times of hardship, there is support! And smiling because we made it through one of the toughest years ever! 2021 will see us enriching our communities around Green Point and Terrigal but for now we are taking a break. And so, from Tanya and Marie and all our Vollies, we wish you all a holiday period of jolliness and joyfulness however that resonates with you and yours.
