16.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we remember the contribution of Daphne Bryant who passed away 2 days ago. A life long unionist and ALP supporter Daphne was always proud of her membership of the Greenslopes Branch. In fact, there is a fair chance that the branch would have folded in the early 2000s without Daphne's active support. We pass on our sincere condolences to her son Col and the rest of the family. RIP Comrade.

02.01.2022 We are very sorry to announce the passing of long time Branch Member Dennis Cross. A Labor stalwart Dennis worked hard for the election of many Labor Members including Kevin Rudd; Cameron Dick MP; Catherine Bermingham; Terri Butler MP and Joe Kelly MP. A quietly spoken man, Dennis knew the Labor cause was right for working people and all Australians so rain, hail and shine he spent his time quietly spreading the Labor message through signs, letterboxes, street stalls and on election day. Condolences to his daughters, family and friends. Funeral is at the Mt Thompson Crematorium 11am Monday May 10th.

02.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be is the theme of this years NAIDOC Week. This week we acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, experience and stories of our First Nations people. That our country is home to the oldest living civilisation on earth is rightfully a source of pride for our nation.... As well as celebrating this year - we encourage people to engage further with our history and Indigenous culture. If you’re on social media (which you are...) why not commit this NAIDOC to following more Indigenous Australians to hear their stories not just this week but beyond. You can also check out what’s happening around the country here: www.naidoc.org.au
