25.01.2022 Happening now, jump on zoom!

23.01.2022 Worried about state of the world and what the future might hold? We are too. That's why we're working together to build a better future. One that's fairer and more sustainable than the past.... Join, volunteer, donate. https://greens.org.au

23.01.2022 Transformative change is possible. A path to Treaty, an inclusive and fair nation and a safe climate future are all within our reach. Its time for big systemic changes. Big challenges need big ideas. Lidia Thorpe's got them.

23.01.2022 Great news! Well done everyone who contributed to this campaign. People power is powerful!

22.01.2022 Scott Morrison wants to take a chainsaw to our environment. New laws the Liberals are trying to rush through will make approvals easier for mining companies and big developers. Their fast-tracked projects cut corners, damage our environment and harm our wildlife. We need to stop them: greens.org.au/campaigns/protecting-our-environment

21.01.2022 In case you missed it, we have a new home. After over a decade at our offices on Wright Street, we have moved into a brand new office on Angas Street. The new office is a welcoming, professional, and warm space. It will be a hub of activity (once allowed) for trainings, meetings, campaigning, phone calls, celebrations, planning, banner painting, gathering, meeting, and who knows what else.... Pictured are our paid staff who you are likely to see if you come in. Left to right we have Sabine (Finance), Dominic (State Director), Jordan (Community Engagement), and Hannah (Office Operations). Although you're just as likely to be greeted by one of our friendly office volunteers. Our new address is 7/291 Angas Street, Adelaide SA 5000. We're just near the corner of Angas and Hutt. Look out for our new sign! We hope to see you here soon.

21.01.2022 What we're reading

21.01.2022 JUST IN: The Government has now axed plans to close nearly a thousand suburban bus stops and dozens of routes. "This is a great result, particularly because the uncertainty was causing a lot of pain in the community. It is also a win for people power! I really hope that the Government learns from this experience and that any future changes are properly consulted with those affected." - Mark Parnell MLC

20.01.2022 We're proud to support the Hutt St Centre and their Walk a Mile in My Boots appeal. So far we've raised $12,623 for them and the work they do to support people experiencing homelessness.

20.01.2022 This is nothing short of a rort. Big companies that are paying out dividends to shareholders & buying back shares should be cut loose from JobKeeper. They should be made to repay funds from the public purse.

20.01.2022 Join Yesha Joshi on Zoom this Thursday to learn all about running successful community projects.

19.01.2022 This NAIDOC week, The Greens SA re-commit to actively work alongside First Nations people for reconciliation and justice. We are doing this by: - Supporting the establishment of the Original Greens - an action group of and for First Nations people in SA (pictured) - Adding a First Nations (voting) member to our key state committees, so that First Nations' people have a say in all our decision making... - Establishing a new membership fee category for First Nations People, set at $0. We recognise that this always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land and that sovereignty was never ceded.

18.01.2022 Our environment is in crisis and the only plan the PM and Environment Minister can come up with is to copy climate-denier Tony Abbotts homework. These new laws... take a chainsaw to environmental protections. They will make it easier for mining companies and big developers to get approval for projects that will destroy the environment and harm our native animals. See more

18.01.2022 A koala census won't save our national treasure from the Morrison Government and their mining and development mates. The Greens will move in the Parliament for ...a moratorium on habitat clearing to save the koala from extinction. Sign the petition www.sarahhansonyoung.com/save_our_koala

17.01.2022 Needless to say, our Angas St office is now shut, effective immediately. We can't say exactly when we'll be able to reopen the doors, but hopefully it will be soon. In the mean time:... - All our online public events can be accessed though our website - Also, on our website you can join, volunteer, or donate. We hold regular volunteer induction meetings (online). - Stay safe, stay home, stay connected, and stay strong. greens.org.au/sa

17.01.2022 The Liberals are trying to destroy environmental protection in the name of corporate profit and greed. We won't let them. Are you with us? greens.org.au/enviro

16.01.2022 This year the theme for Homelessness Week (#HW2020) is Everybody Needs a Home. Not only do we have our Homes For All policies (see comments), we've also been fundraising for the Hutt St Centre. Check out our team's page here:

16.01.2022 A bunch of Greens SA members and supporters are talking part in the Hutt St Centre's Walk a Mile in My Boots on Friday 7 August. So far we have raised almost $3000 dollars. Please donate now and together we can help end homelessness. walkamile.org.au/st/53/t

15.01.2022 This is on tonight! As our climate gets hotter and drier we need to create greener communities. Find out how you can kick off environmental projects in your neighbourhood!

14.01.2022 Mark has been a wonderful representative since first being elected in 2006. He has been a champion of better environmental and planning laws, workers rights and social justice. He has been a principled and effective advocate for a better society and a sustainable future. A vote of all Greens party members in SA will be held to choose his successor.

14.01.2022 The Morrison Government wants to make it easier for mining companies and developers to destroy the environment and create more pollution. We need stronger laws ...and an independent watchdog on the beat - because the Government can't be trusted to protect our environment. It is time the laws are fixed - https://www.sarahhansonyoung.com/fix_australia_s_environmen

12.01.2022 There is a toxic culture in Parliament. Scott Morrison sits at the top and he’s now got the ability to fully investigate, clean it up, and women across the country are looking to him now to act. Credit: ABC News, 10/11/2020

11.01.2022 Looks interesting

09.01.2022 Well done everyone who got involved in this campaign. People power wins again.

08.01.2022 Have you seen our recovery plan? Now is the time for bold government investment to create jobs and build the foundations of a cleaner, fairer economy. Our plan focuses on the future and will leave no one behind.

06.01.2022 In our last wine sale, the red wine, the "Social Justice Organic Shiraz Cabernet", made by Temple Bruer, sold out, so we decided to make sure everyone had the opportunity to order and enjoy this drop. All orders need to be finalised by 5pm 30 November. Order your wine online now, then pick up your wine on 11 December, just in time for Christmas.... greens.org.au/sa/wine

05.01.2022 Looks interesting. Register now!

05.01.2022 Labor is selling out Australias environment and wildlife for the interests of big coal and mining donors. They are prepared to trash environment protection... laws in a rush to back the expansion of a thermal coal mine in Queensland ahead of that states election. Blaming environmental laws for causing approval delays for the New Acland coal mine is dangerous, base politics. We need stronger environmental protection laws, not weaker ones. Sign if you agree: www.sarahhansonyoung.com/environment

02.01.2022 Mark's initial thoughts on today's state budget.

02.01.2022 Yes, it's a lovely day in Adelaide, but maybe it's a little bit too warm for this time of year.

01.01.2022 Tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon, Richard's last speech is happening.

01.01.2022 It is time to rethink the privatisation of aged care. Privatisation and deregulation, driven by thirty years of neoliberal ideology, have produced a perfect storm of a casualised workforce and substandard service, and it is causing heartache for residents and their families.

01.01.2022 Australia has for years buddied up with Donald Trump to be blockers on global climate action. With Trump gone, the world is now poised to take a huge step forward on climate, and we can’t be left behind.

01.01.2022 Big corporations donate for a reason. While the major parties continue to take money from big corporate interests, they will never be completely focused on what is good for our communities.
