23.01.2022 We use a lot of natural resources during play. It enhances imagination and creativity as the children use the resources in construction and art work and make belive play. I love to see what patterns can be made with tools from nature. Like these gumnuts being used to make neat little circles. And the best thing about natural resources, is they are free and readily available!!

23.01.2022 I love when the children use their imagination with the natural resources I make for them. These blocks are made from blue gum, my husband cuts them and I sand them back. There was lots of counting, grouping, arranging, and creativity with them today. We even used them as musical instruments.

22.01.2022 Children's clothing can be a canvas of their creative explorations.

20.01.2022 Our Green Thumbs have been busy in our veggie patch latly with lots of produce. We like to sit and enjoy the fresh corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and peas strait from the garden!

16.01.2022 Making cakes and biccis with our natural coloured, cinamon scented playdough and black pebbles. The children connected with eachother through their creativity as they talked about what they were making. They persited with the tasks they had set for themselves. This was also an awesome fine motor and sensory activity!

13.01.2022 Our little Green Thumbs took a stroll up the ANZAC memorial walk today with some other playgroup friends. Was a very windy day! But we still had a wonderful time.

11.01.2022 One of my children had a hospital visit yesterday. So to follow on from this experience, I set up a Drs surgery in the lounge for the children to role play. They had fun helping eachother wrap bandages, listening to heartbeats, making eachother feel better and of course dressing up like drs.

09.01.2022 We had a very colourful morning starting with red, blue, green and blue playdough with paddlepop sticks. The children made birthday cup cakes with them. (I found them in the home corner oven) as its been super hot, we cooled down with some ice cube painting, after the ice cubes had melted, we used the beautiful colours left over as cotton bud art and explored lines and shapes and sang "I can sing a rainbow". Then...we extended the painting a third time by making tie dye patterns on paper towel. The children commented on how the colours "moved" up the paper towel and mixed colours. Very creative!!!

08.01.2022 This was fun and kept the children's inrerest for a long period of time. What is it? A box, a wooden hammer and golf ball tees. Simple as that!

06.01.2022 Resources don't have to be expensive. 2 bags of cornflour a little water and some food colouring = murcury slime! And a lot of exploring!

06.01.2022 Everyone meet our newest green thumb "Jo Jo".

04.01.2022 Collecting the eggs is one of our morning chores that everyone loves to get involved in.

03.01.2022 I turned my back and look what my littlies created!!

03.01.2022 Check out this cool slime I made ready for the kids on Wednesday! 1 cup PVA, 3 cups shaving cream, 3 tablespoons bicarb soda added saline solution until it binded nicely and didnt stick to my hands or the surface... = fluffy slime. (Play around with the saline and shaving cream quantaties. I used quite a bit of saline.) Simple to clean up. Keep in a zip lock bag. Recycle zip lock bag Make sure you supervise young children as it's not edible. *warning* not good for carpeted areas. (We did have a little accident and cleaned it up with soapy water but best to avoid).

03.01.2022 Our rainy day activity was planting sprouted potatoes from the pantry!!!

02.01.2022 Syringe paint splat painting today. Making colour mixing fun and interesting.

02.01.2022 I found these gorgeous oriental inspired bowls and spoons at Vinnies!!! On Wednesday I added lentils to the area. The children used their practical skills by mixing, pouring, scooping, sharing and negotiating roles.

02.01.2022 We love designing our own play areas. On friday we poured yellow and blue water down recycled pipes to mix together to watch it make green!!! The children moved the pipes around to experiment with various ways the water could run and mix together. Check out our choice of footwear in the fourth photo! Very stylish.

01.01.2022 Our bamboo water feature is soooo relaxing to listen to as it trickles through and fun to cool off in.
