13.01.2022 How happy I am to share these gorgeous snaps from today's Threatened Species workshop out at Perup Nature Reserve!! Seriously..... are kids getting cuter? I think they are. Thank you to my lovely friend Karrie, Blackwood Basin Group, South West Catchment Council and the fabulous home schooling families. It was the perfect morning out in the winter sunshine chatting about ways our gardens can provide habitat and a safe haven for the endemic fauna.

09.01.2022 Two more bee hotels made today for gifts. This design has always been the favourite of the bees in my garden. Upcycle a couple of 30cm hanging basket frames, get an old catering sized tin of tomatoes (20cm deep) and fill with some drilled wood, bamboo, spent raspberry canes or grapevine cuttings, then cover with some coconut fibre or similar for protection from the sun. Simple, recycled and natural materials. ... 09.01.2022 HAPPY SUNDAY This is a Leioproctus bee in my patch possibly a Leioproctus plumosus These bees are cared for in our patch with our extensive plantings of the Myrtaceae family (think eucalypts, bottlebrushes and tea trees)... Like all bees from the family Colletidae, they are known for having short tongues, allowing them to effectively forage on the shallow flowers of the Myrtaceae family Often a bee species will be so specialised, it will only be able to feed on and pollinate one type of flower. Ensuring you have a great diversity of flowers in your patch that are endemic to your area is the simplest way to create habitat gardens that will provide for all native fauna. Think Proteaceae (banksias, hakea, telopea, grevillea), Myrtaceae (eucalyptus, tea tree, bottle brush), Fabaceae (acacia, pea flowers) as a great start Have a beeutiful day Trac

Ruled by Jupitor and just as generous as the giant, gaseous planet, Borage gives off more energy to its surroundings than it receives. Like many of the plants ruled by this planet, Borage has the Jupiterian vibrational healing energy that is uplifting, joyful, mood enhancing and inspires positive feelings. 02.01.2022 The mighty Booch is back in full production in our house i have had a huge break in running fermenting workshops.... but for some reason kept producing enough for us and all the tastings in the non existent workshops The SCOBY'S have had a nice little rest in their five star SCOBY hotel and are back in action (now that we've dwindled the stock down and have some free bottles and fridge space ) Time for some second ferment experiments again what's your favourite flavour?
