25.01.2022 GOOD NEWS UPDATE We are happy to announce that we will reopen tomorrow Saturday the 20th of June at 9:00am. The previously suspected positive case from last week that spent time in our clinic on Thursday, has just been a confirmed false positive due to laboratory error by the Department of Health after multiple retests of both the person and the original sample. Therefore there has not been any exposure to any of our staff or clients. ... All staff tests returned thus far have also been confirmed negative (as expected given the information above). Whilst there has not been any risk to our staff or clients in this instance, it is a timely reminder that we must all continue to be vigilant with our social distancing and hygiene efforts. We will continue to do our best at the clinic to ensure everyone is safe. Thank you everyone for your kind words of support. We apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you and your furry pals soon!

20.01.2022 Now that the weather is warming up and we are still in stage 4 restrictions we are seeing LOTS of people walking their dogs to pass some time, which is great! Just a reminder that it is officially spring time With spring time can come grass seeds and skin conditions. ... Grass seeds are nasty arrow shaped seeds that have a very sharp point and feathered sides which easily burrow through skin and can lodge in eyes, ears and paws. Grass seeds will cause inflammation and pain, if left untreated they can cause an abscess or infection. Ways to prevent grass seeds: Mow your lawns regulating and clean up clippings. Avoid walks in long grass, stick to where it’s short. Check your pet daily after walks from top to tail for grass seeds, and remove them before they have a chance to burrow into the skin. Groom long haired dogs regularly and keep fur short around the face, paws and ears. Skin conditions can be driggered in spring due to pollens, grasses, moulds and dust mites. Some signs and symptoms of seasonal allergies: Scratching. Itchy, red eyes. Rashes. Sneezing. watery or green eye discharge. Smelly or itchy ears. After coming home from a nice walk and you notice any of these symptoms or signs in your pet make sure to book them in for a check up! Call the clinic on 9333 1993.

We are sorry to advise that due to the recent COVID lockdown, we must again make some changes to the running of the clinic to ensure we can continue to look after our clients, patients and staff into the future. We are still an essential service so will still be able to perform all veterinary activities as normal with your pets. However, we need to make some changes to the movement of people through the clinic. As of... Friday July 10th our new (temporary) protocols will be as follows: Phone the clinic on arrival - we will advise when we are ready for you to come through to waiting room. 1 person per pet in the clinic at any given time - if you have multiple people they will need to wait in the car or outside the clinic. Discussion with vet in the waiting room as to the reason for visit. Vet to take patient through to consult room for examination and treatment (without client). Client to wait in waiting room or car. Patient returned/discharged in waiting room, with payment/collection of medication at reception. Please continue to observe all social distancing measures (maintain 1.5m, personal hygiene) and please do not come into the clinic if you are unwell or have had contact with a known case of COVID. Please call to discuss options if any of this applies and you have a pet that needs veterinary attention. We understand that this is not ideal and hope to return to normal client movement through the clinic as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you soon.
