25.01.2022 Please everyone the only way to be heard is to lodge a complaint immediately with Vic roads Do it TODAY!! (doesn't matter if it's not on the day it occurs, you can set a date. It takes 2 minutes but will make a big difference) Please do not be complacent and believe others will complain on your behalf or just accept sitting in traffic for an hour to travel 1 km. Vic roads regularly report complaints received to Jaala Pulford our roads minister. REPORT A ROAD ISSUE below:

24.01.2022 Thank you to Hume councillor Joseph Haweil and co-councillors for your continued support to help residents in the local area have a voice and be heard and respected by private developers and state government. It is very much appreciated on behalf of the Greenvale community. https://www.starweekly.com.au//mickleham-road-peak-hour-c/

23.01.2022 * Peak traffic congestion on Mickleham Road banking back to Craigieburn Road. *Single, double, single, double, single lanes all the way to Somerton Road = poor planning and infrastructure * Drivers waiting 30 minutes to get out of Providence Estate with no other exit routes available to residents * New Maples estate Lemonwood/Hillview intersection causing gridlocks *Parents struggling to get their kids to school on time!... * New Keelonith (Greenvale West) primary school to open 2021 in Greenvale Gardens * Craigieburn West PSP to be fast tracked for residential development Hume residents can look forward to more days like these........

23.01.2022 Things are a bit different this year.... The Coronavirus has certainly shown us that, but it has also made us reassess what is important in life, which for some is spending time doing what you love or spending time with the ones you love! It is certainly not about wasting time sitting in traffic chaos on Mickleham or Somerton roads! So given we are nearly half way through 2020 the Greenvale Residents Association has reopened last year's 2019 e-petition which is now availabl...e to sign. This was sponsored by Fiona Patten MP. The current number of signatures sits at 1,166 and we are hoping to increase this in the next six months to show the state government that we matter in Greenvale and it is time to invest in us! There is a high level of not only unemployment here in Hume but under employment opportunities and we need to look after our community! Financial $$ investment in major infrastructure projects such as our road duplications from State Government and jobs for Hume residents is exactly what we NEED right now! Please spread the word and sign the e-petition! If you signed it last year, thank you as you don't need to sign again. However, you can still help and support the e-petition by sharing it with others to sign. You can access the E-petition here: https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au//view-e-p/details/12/129

23.01.2022 Thanks Craig Ondarchie MP and Jim Overend - Hume City Council for your ongoing support and advocacy for Greenvale residents dealing daily with the nightmare of Mickleham and Somerton roads! https://www.facebook.com/116868855036962/posts/3607739585949854/

23.01.2022 We need major project works for the duplication of Mickleham and Somerton roads! Send some funds and works our way in Greenvale! Jobs for Victorians! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3087347664663082&id=134712696593275

22.01.2022 Hello all, As COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease and we see residents return to school and work over the next few weeks, please remember to sign the e-petition and lodge complaints regarding the congestion and traffic issues on Mickleham and Somerton Roads with VicRoads (Department of Transport). The intersection at Hillview and Lemonwood continues to be problematic! The lights have not been activated and motorists over the last few week's turning left to head north from th...is intersection out of Greenvale Gardens have taken to performing shortcuts. They are using the college entrance to perform U-turns in order to head south. This has caused near misses and is an issue for all motorists to be aware of so please be careful. Complaints should be lodged with VicRoads using the link below and the following local and state ministers and report the traffic congestion issue to VicRoads (Department of Transport): [email protected] (Labour Member for Yuroke) [email protected] (Minister for Roads) [email protected] (Minister for Transport Infrastructure) [email protected] (Shadow Minster for Roads) [email protected] (Leader of the Opposition) https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/traffic/report-a-road-issue

22.01.2022 Last Monday Councillor Joseph Haweil (Aitken Ward) has put forward to council to pass his motion to write to both VicRoads (DoT) and the PASK Group with regard to intersection works which have exacerbated the already stressed conditions on Mickleham Rd. Thank you for your ongoing support and advocacy work Cr Haweil, Cr Jackson and Mayor Moore. It is very much appreciated on behalf of residents of Greenvale. Watch Cr Haweil in action! ... #humeadvocates https://www.facebook.com/haweilforhume/videos/597549541067026/

19.01.2022 Media release quotes Jaala Pulford, Minister for Roads: Private construction companies blocking lanes on our arterial roads keeps Victorians in their cars even longer on their daily commute and has a serious impact on our economy. We know how frustrating it is when construction clogs up important road space the change will keep drivers moving, getting home sooner, everyday.... https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/keeping-traffic-moving-acro/

15.01.2022 This was the complaint response received by the GRA from VicRoads (DoTS) regarding the traffic congestion on Mickleham road: Thank you for getting in contact with us about your ongoing concerns along Mickleham road, Greenvale and Greenvale Gardens Firstly I want to apologise for the delay in responding to your enquiry. Due to an increased amount of requests received regarding Mickleham road we wanted to ensure that we went to the right teams to get you the most updated inform...Continue reading

13.01.2022 Unfortunately the Greenvale traffic chaos this weekend has resulted from road maintenance and poor traffic management planning for Greenvale residents who received inaccurate or no notification. Please express your opinion for the urgent need for duplication of Somerton and Mickleham roads directly to VicRoads! Facebook opinions don't count Complaints to VicRoads do count ... Hopefully the road repairs will avoid the continual game of dodging the potholes we all experience particularly after heavy rain.

13.01.2022 SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION ON MICKLEHAM ROAD (BETWEEN DONNYBROOK AND MT RIDLEY ROAD 100KM DOWN TO 80KM) The GRA has received information that the speed limit will be lowered on Mickleham Road between Donnybrook Road and Mt Ridley Road to 80km/hr (from 100km/hr). The change will occur on Monday 20 July 2020 and will be preceded with 2 weeks of a roadside electronic sign advising road users of the coming change. The electronic signs will also be out for a further two weeks after the speed sign installations warning all road users. In three months time the small supplementary New Limit signs will also be removed.

06.01.2022 This is the build up of traffic in Greenvale every morning this week. It is taking residents approximately 40 minutes to travel less than 1km get out of their estates and on to Mickleham road because of the rolling queues from the north and intersection development at Hillview and Lemonwood. Sick of waiting in the traffic congestion? Mickleham road is an arterial road managed by State Government.... Complain to Vicroads, write to local and State MP and come along to the next Greenvale Residents Association meeting on the 27 Feb @ 7pm - Greenvale Rec Centre. #humeadvocates

04.01.2022 As residents are returning to work from leave and the new term about to begin, Mickleham and Somerton Road traffic congestion is about to be at an all time high! This year we have the added challenge of a deviation road and incomplete intersection at Hillview and Lemonwood which will no doubt cause greater traffic problems, time delays and frustration for motorists. If you wish to complain please email ALL of the following local and state ministers and report the traffic co...ngestion issue to VicRoads (Department of Transport): [email protected] (Labour Member for Yuroke) [email protected] (Minister for Roads) [email protected] (Minister for Transport Infrastructure) [email protected] (Shadow Minster for Roads) [email protected] (Leader of the Opposition) https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/traffic/report-a-road-issue

04.01.2022 Information received by the GRA regarding the developers permission for Mickleham road closures is as follows: The developer does not have approval to close the single lane in each direction as part of its works. A single lane each direction must be kept open. When it is necessary for the developer to close lanes for deliveries, the developer must apply for appropriate approvals and should consider doing so outside of morning/afternoon peak periods to reduce the impact on co...mmuters. If you notice that the developers are not adhering to these conditions it can be reported to Vic Roads or our local minister. #humeadvocates
